Ammunitionstore.com added $15/case to their web pricing.
Only one guy manning the whole thing, and he wasn't negotiating a dime.

I told him it cost less than $15/case to ship.
I can go home and order it from you on line, and get it shipped to my door for less than you're willing to sell it to me for right now.
Asked him if that made sense to him.
Told him I was ready to take XXXXX rounds.
He didn't care, seemed like he didn't want to be there.

I told him to have fun carrying it out to the truck tomorrow and left.

I all ears for whatever ammo deals folks are getting.
Need a bunch.

What kind of price was he asking for a 1000 round case of 7.62x39?  There is a place right in Oshkosh where I can get 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 for $99/case.

7.62 was $90, up from, $75.
It looked like a flat $15/case increase on everything there.

I hate stores where you pay a fee, but sportsman's guide is looking like the best thing going.

I hope he has to hire somebody to help him load ALL of it back on the truck.

Same conclusion I came to and I already ordered 2K rounds from Sportsman's Guide. Should be here Monday. $359 with coupon and shipping.

Im not trying to be an ass, but have you ever thought about reloading?  Its very enjoyable, and the startup cost can be fairly low depending on what you get.  Plus experimentation with different loads is fun.  Just a thought.

Personally, I don't reload 5.56 or 9mm.  They're both so cheap, that it isn't cost effective.  If you're going to do precision work, then yes, your own recipe will be better.

I reload both 5.56 and 9mm.  For 9mm I reload with 147 gr bullets, so it is cost effective, because this factory ammo with this weight bullet is expensive.  Plus, the load I use is quite accurate, and soft recoiling.  I have been using the winchester 55 gr FMJBT bullets for .223 but havent been too impressed with the results.  I recently loaded up some with 68 gr Hornady HP match bullets, hopefully these will be better.  Next up is Sierra match king 69 gr HPBT bullets.  Heard lots of good about those.  With these premium bullets, its definately cost effective.

I have a Rock Chucker, hand-clicky primer inserter tool, scale, some dies and some various other do-dads.
I've yet to make a single cartridged round.
Planning on using it to work up heat seeking laser death ray .308 rounds.
I'll get to it eventually.

I have a 12 ga shot shell loader.
I've used that;  used to shoot clays a couple years ago.
Roloading shotshells was roughly cost neutral.

Gerke's on Main Street.  Last time I bought 7.62x39 there was $99+tax/1000.
Are you in/around Oshkosh?  Where/what do you shoot?

pretty hard toreload for less than the price of good surp.  especially if you consider your time spent.

Now that's funny.... I live about 4 blocks from that place.... Last time I was in there they didn't have much of anything so I haven't gone back in a while....

When I get a chance to shoot it's usually either at my sister's farm, just north of Oakfield or at a quarry that a buddy of mine works at south of Fond du Lac. I'm looking for a good place closer...

As far as what,it depends what I bring with me I have 3 AR's, an SAR1, SKS, CETME (which I haven't got a chance to even take out yet) several .22 rifles and a assortment of handguns from .22 to .44mag...

Have you got a good place closer??? I looking into joining the Van Dyne Sportsman's Club which would be a bit closer....

I am a board member at www.springbrooksports.com and I shoot there quite a bit.  The website will show you where it is, and you will notice that this year we have started a practical pistol shoot.
