So I moved to Golden a couple weeks ago from the east coast and can't praise this place highly enough. The air is clean, hiking excellent, women and livestock pretty. I did notice one serious problem. There's no Shipyard or Harpoon distributors out here, which means now Pumpkinhead or UFO pumpkin. I now have to call on you guys to recommend substitutes. The Red Hook Pumpkin Porter sucks, as does the Blue Moon.
Help me CO HTF, what regional brands/breweries do I need to check out to get my fix? |

There's 9K ( feels like it) breweries along the front range. Start in ft collins, rent a room on friday, bring a designated driver, OR call a cab. I suggest a DD, this way come sunday evening, you're covered, cause you'll be in no condition to drive. Following weekend loveland, than longmont, OR drive over to greeley for a friday start, then loveland. Those 2 are a day's workout. You WASP are demanding. |

I'll be happy to move if you can find me a prettier place where I'm making more money with nicer people And thanks, gonna try AppleJacks and Punk'n for sure. I'm still impressed by the number of microbreweries here, Connecticut had some good ones, Alaska had a few great ones, but I swear to god I've seen more microbreweries here than actual liquor stores. I guess that's one of those happy problems right?

Wait till he's at the range and someone's shooting select fire Hey you guys know NFA's legal in CO ? youz guyz from da east coat are too easy. Windham, litchfield, New Haven cty? Once you got past the LI sound cities / south part of the state and ran northward it was beautiful scenery. The state police were just a tad nicer than NYSP |
Man that's the truth. I still haven't gotten used to people being friendly without feeling the need to check that my wallet's still there
Definitely trying the different microbreweries, but it's a bit overwhelming with all the choices. Seems like every town has a half dozen of them, all of varying quality. I've been digging cannonball creek but that might just be because it's a five minute walk from my house. |

Shipyard Pumpkinhead tastes like Michelob ultra with a dash of cinnamon. 4.5 % What you are really missing out on is Two Roads Roadsmary's Baby.
Weyerbacher makes a pretty strong seasonal Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Of all of their high ABV beers that taste like rotten fruit, it is the best. |
