Just got let go today from work. Does anyone know someone who is hiring? I have been doing HVAC service for 10+ years and am going to school for a Mechanical Engineering degree. I am one semester away from an Associate of Science through Front Range. Don't know if I want to continue with the HVAC thing right now, maybe temporarily until the next semester starts, I am more interested in a night position so that I can go to school full time during the day. I have strong troubleshooting skills, know how to read wiring diagrams, and am good with my hands. I live up North in Mead so anything in Boulder, No Denver area, Loveland, Longmont, or Ft Collins will work. Thinking about Metro State for my Bachelors and then CU for my Masters so the main focus will job hunting that direction. Thanks in advance.

I am an aircraft mechanic and I can't find crap.  At least not with a decent company.  I can go to Afghanistan or Iraq, but I am choosing to raise my boys while mom works.  We can barely afford it so we are going with it.  Good luck man.

There's a few HVAC jobs on Craig's List but you may not get the wage you want. It's an employer's market right now and the wages have dropped considerably in the last year.

I just transferred to metro after getting my ME associates. You might as well just get through school while the job market sucks.

No shit. we had an appliance tech come in for some warranty work this last weekend. he said his Co. closed 4-5 stores, laid off 42 tech and if he takes home $2-300 a week he's busy!!.

A mechanical degree (get the entire BSME) is still good and won't limit you to HVAC.  That being said, if you've had that much field experience and your BSME, then every design firm in the country will want to hire you.

Thanks for all the input. The wife and I have decided full time school is the way to go. We will be renting the house soon and moving in with the in-laws. Night work and studying here I come! If anyone in NOCO needs some furnace repairs pm me and I will see what I can do for you.
