So long story short, my chamber on one of my AR's is fitting tight with (actual) 5.56 rounds. It's marked 5.56 but gave me some trouble so I'd like to get it checked by a 'smith who could fix the problem ( ream the chamber to proper specs) anyone know of a gunsmith in or around Lakewood with such an ability (I asked my usual guy but he said he doesn't have the tool yet...)

Any info helps.

Here she is (just a little something for reading/resonding to my thread)

If you bring it over to Aurora, I'll do it for free. Email me.

I wouldn't mess with it if it has a chrome lined chamber.

If it does, I would send it back to the MFG.

YMMV

it is Chrome lined. It's a bushmaster 1/9 5.56 Chrome lined.

I don't think I can send it back, it's been cut down and pinned with the KX3.

I'm half way tempted to just replace it.

Won't hurt it a bit. If you've shot it much the throat chrome is probably already gone. From Ned C's (who makes the MOACK and 5.56 reamer) site:

What about chromed-lined chambers?  . . . Will removing the chrome be a problem? No. Plenty of AR's don't have chromed bores and chamber and they work fine. I've sectioned some chromed barrels and the chrome doesn't last that long in the throat area anyway. Removing chrome in the chamber won't cause the area to peel like bumper chrome.

Again, offer stands.
