De-ca-li-bron
Democrat - Cameron - Lincoln - Bross Four 14ers that I'll be going for tomorrow, as I head out the door soon for Kite Lake. I'm especially thrilled about this one because tonight is the eve of a full moon - that means a bright night, which means substantial help with navigating a Class 2 trail at night. If all goes according to plan, I'll reach the summit of Mt. Democrat by moonlight, and be there to watch the sunrise tomorrow morning From there, it's just looping around the ridge to knock out the other three. Wish me luck! _MaH |

Good luck, Matt!
P.S. Be aware that a partial lunar eclipse will occur before sunrise on Saturday. Details here: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OH2010.html#LE2010Jun26P |

Go get them. It should go just fine. Hiking at night is sublime; I think you'll enjoy it.
Have you lightened up your pack yet?
I may hike Tue/Wed. 6/29&30 around Torreys/Grays from the Zuma side daytripping - if you can make it lemme know. I know it's more traditional from Bakersville side, but Peru Creek is super convenient for me. So maybe Chihuahua or Horseshoe Basin - I'm going to see how far up Chihuahua I can get my truck first. -JC |
