Anyone have a bad experience at the Firing Line? I don’t mean to flame but every time I go in there they are rude and extremely arrogant! Their prices are way high, and the range is unbearably dirty. Last time I shot in there I literally was coughing up black stuff later that night. My last experience put me over the edge when I had a brand new Bush M4 arrive for a transfer. I was personally there from the out of state shop that sent it for my pick up. When I got it home I realized that while at the firing line someone had traded the brand new sealed factory magazine with an old no name used one! I am 100% certain that the sealed factory mag was shipped with my rifle. Unfortunately the Firing line is the ONLY indoor range in my area. Any one else have a bad experience or is it just me? |

I typically go there at least every weekend and have no problems. I picked up my HK 45c new for $849, which is way cheaper than anywhere else I found it. They have always been helpful and friendly to my wife and I. Who did you pick up your rifle from? The member's side is usually pretty nice (well lit and no crap in the air). I think they are doing just about everything they can to stay in business as they just had a major structural failure of their roof a few weeks ago (I imagine that was costly to fix). No, I don't work for them, but I'm pretty regular down there and I'm a paying member of the range. |

Go back and voice your complaints regarding the magazine. Firing Line is crappy indeed...my boss at my new job wants to get into shooting, and I was talking about a crappy indoor range near him and another guy automatically knew it was TFL... Some of the employees are friendly, but they are typically arrogant and can be a real pain to even get them to open the display case to grab an AR part... |

I must be lucky or spend too much time there. I've not had a bad experience yet. Which sucks as I'm moving to Texas soon and have to build a relationship with a local shop there. :( |

The first 3 times I went there, they were the BIGGEST ASSHOLES
that was over 3 years ago, stopped in a few weeks ago, cause the father inlaw was on a 38spl hunt cause we couldn't find it anywhere else.1- they had it 2-were cheaper then the bare shelf tags 3- were actually friendly. Looked at some stuff and the price were really reasonable. Went by this week and just as cool. I've never shot there. There is another indoor range no to far, but not open to the public, pretty nice, we went a few years back |

they have a cleaner range than the shootist pistol range. still pretty dirty, not the greatest ventilation. I try to shoot outside as much as possible but it is fun to shoot there every once in a while. The Fiance likes it since it is indoors...but I tell her outside is better, quieter, and I am not one that likes to be told what I can and can't do. If I want to do a mag dump as fast as possible with my pistol then I am going to do it. they only say double taps are okay. The guys at TFL have been hit or miss whether they were cool or not. some guys very nice and helpful, others a bit arrogant and thinking you know absoltely nothing. I would go back though. decent enough place. I wouldn't buy anything there unless it was an amazing deal as I have a good FFL locally I get much better deals from than anywhere else. |

Quoted: they have a cleaner range than the shootist pistol range. I disagree. My experience is the same as the OP's: coughing up black shit after leaving the Firing Line. I have not had that problem at the Shootist. Also, the people at the shootist are friendlier than at the firing line. |

Don't get me wrong, I still had black shit when I blew my nose after TFL, but it was worse for me at the shootist. I wasn't very happy about either location...why would I want to breathe all that shit? Thats why I go outside. |
| They think that they are better then everybody else, that is why I started to become a member of a range, blgc. I know that they cannot do anything about fixing the range. They are grandfathered in with an old law when it comes to ranges. If they do anything to improve or fix that grandfathering goes away and they have to build it to todays standards, thus is why they do nothing and let it be a shit hole. One of the things they would have to install is a ventelation system, go figure! |

Quoted: Vandy58 is full of shit! The public range will be closed from June 1st for total renovation. Why do these assholes have to spout off about something they know nothing about. ![]() proof? how do you know. just curious because i wont go back until they get some fresh air circulating in there |

Quoted: Quoted: Sniper 7, because a friend of mine works there. I understand that they are going to do the same work as they did to the members range a year ago. good to hear. are the prices going up? Gotta admit, I wasnt too excited about paying another $2 a day at the range so members could enjoy lighting while us non-members got the old range with bad lighting and worse equipment... |
| Their range is really poorly ventilated, get a case of "diet coke throat" every time I go. (Throat always tastes vaguely of diet coke every time I finish up shooting there...) The Shootist's range is better in that respect, imo. The people working the counter have done their job adequately. |

I'll have to agree with the mixed experiences at Firing Line. I've had great assistance from Rich and Dave (I believe to be thier names). The other employees are, as mentioned, pretty rude and arrogant. One in particular is a the big, burly guy. He has the biggest "I'm better than you" attitude.
My last visit, a customer walked up to him and asked him where the laser grips were. He just motioned his head towards a corner of the store and said they are over there, meanwhile not losing a beat on sucking his Sonic drink. I've had to deal with him a few times and his attitude remains the same. After that, I told myself I would never go back to Firing Line again. The people I shoot with say the same about Firing Line. It's just a bad vibe store. Although it's a bit of a drive, I go to Jensen Arms now. |

Why do these assholes have to spout off about something they know nothing about. ![]() Full of shit uh, that is strait from their mouths, not mine. Also Aurora PD. Okay so the public range is finally getting renovated? After what 20+ years and that makes me full of shit? That place is a hole and price gouges the hell out of everybody. Their ammo has always been over prices, even when it was a dime a dozen, as are their guns! The owner chain smokes like it is going out of style making that place smell like stale poop. Sorry but that range blows. I have not been there in a while but it was what 110 for a membersip? For 50 less I can be a member of BLGC and not only have access to 11 berms, 2 of which I can shoot high power but 5 stands, trap, 22 shiloutte, long range high power, and long range lead. Hhhhmmm tuff choice
|
| for the record I had no idea they finally decided to put in a ventilation system and remodel. I know for a fact it took them so long because they were grandfather in with some old laws. I have not been to that dump in a couple of years. People have already said it but when you walk out of that place you can actually taste the lead. Every try blowing your nose? Your boogers and snot come out black, that in itself proves what I am saying. |

I haven't been back in years after going maybe 10 times over 2 years.
The range ventilation was always non-existent. Holes shot all through the place. The store side was always way high on prices.. especially selling used guns for the price of a new one at 'Garts'. I know we should support the actual gun shops, but seriously - I'm not getting a used for the same price.. especially when the dudes behind the counter don't want to help you. That place was just ass. The only thing I liked there was the fact that police came by quite often for 'friendly' reasons. If that makes sense. |
|
Thank you! Most people could see that there was no ventilation minus the holes in the ceilings

Just thought I would throw out a tidbit from a buddy of mine in regards to the Firing Line. He got laid off and was hurting for cash. He took a LNIB Bushy 20" A3 with a YHM quad on it and the case, paper etc and was looking to sell it to them. They had the audacity to offer him the generous sum of $450.00 for it.
Now I know everybody has to make a living but Jeesus. |

Most days I have been out there the wind is bad enough to strip the paint off your truck. |
