| Any one ever heard of it or been to one? Coworker told me that one opened in Loveland. |
|
yes they have been a fixture in Fort Collins for many years (50 or so). they now have the sporting goods store in Fort collins, the Farm and Ranch store in the old country general store at the north edge of fort collins and they opened a new store in Loveland on Eisenhower(hwy 34). it has everything from camping stuf, cast iron cookware, guns, fishing, hunting, clothes, boating, surplus. a bunch of stuff. i cant comment on ammo or gun prices though. i know alot of peopl who have bought guns and ammo from they but i have not. yet

i cant comment on ammo or gun prices though.
i can. overpriced on what people on this board would buy. ammo 10-15% over jensens easy 20% over wally world, depending on caliber. Jax has some nice outdoor gear, clothing etc. However they are a tree hugging, not gun friendly place to do business. Their farm & ranch store is decent with average prices on tools & equip. |

Farm and Ranch store is a good place for Stihl chainsaws. |
| They're a sporting goods store, not a gun store. I've found the folks at the Loveland gun counter to be a lot more friendly and helpful than the group at the FC store. They have an OK selection, but prices will never cause a stampede. Ammo prices are about average for the area. Jensen's is by far the best place to buy ammo, but sometimes JAX gets shipments of HSM stuff that's very reasonably priced. |

No. you can pay the same price @ jax as you would in the metro area.
check out www.tnol.com its the thrifty nickel for larimer & weld cty. under the sports & recreation section of the ft collins/greeley page there's a guy advertising reloading equip for a decent (his words) price |

I worked at the Ft.Collins store in the gun dept. for 11 years. While I was there they always tried to be competitive. I know Jax has changed a lot in the past few years but I never thought they were not gun friendly. But I don't get there very often. there was a time during th eAWB that they would not do any transfers of what they deemed to be military style weapons. when i asked why. i wass told that kind of customer was not what Jax was about or striving for, as per the owners/mgmt. if it wasn't a bolt or lever gun, while they did carry overpriced glocks etc, they had no interest or desire |
| I've always liked the one in Ft. Collins. They order from AIM surplus, I've picked up some 7.62X39 from them a couple of times. Had XM193 at a decent price a while ago. They even have a couple of AKs and ARs last time I was in. Also, they have the military surplus store in there as well, and I almost always pick up an ammo can or something. |
| I like Jax, I find them to be generally better stocked than REI and to be competitive on prices for their outdoor gear. They carry a great selection of real workboots and a massive Carhart selection. They also have a great army surplus section in back that is well stocked, although their price on Multi-Cam stuff is way high. I don't buy much gun stuff from them (I go to Active Arms and Jensens) but occasionally they will have some HSM at a good price. They have a very fair return policy and I applaud them on that, if they sell it and its not good they stand behind it and I have never been denied a legitimate return. |

I like HSM so I usually end up getting it there for an okay price. They never have an impressive hand gun selection, but they have lots of weird defense rounds (Hornaday) and other accessories. I like the countermen. They had the best price in town for a TSA case.
I was unimpressed with Loveland's Jax, and one of the guys there didn't take me seriously. The last couple times they've had a skinnier ammo selection than FTC. But they have a better store format and WAY better parking than North. If you're looking for clothing, skip those and go to the farm and ranch Jax. |
