I'm in the market for a new toy. My budget is limited (<$1000, ideally around $800), so I'm looking at a handgun for now. I'm somewhat set on either a S&W 629 in 44mag, and about a 6" barrel... or a lower end 1911. As much as I would like to "get both", it's not in the budget. I do not have any pistols in either caliber, and I do not have any revolvers. I have shot a 629 before and really enjoyed it. I like the idea of the 44mag, and I've heard whisperings that semi-autos may be in jeopardy under the new NOBAMA administration, and figure a revolver may be a good investment. 1911's seem to be a "must have" for most gun owners, their reputation speaks for themselves, and I'd like to add a 45cal to my small, but growing family. Figured I'd ask the hive... What say you? |

Can't go wrong with a revolver. Interestingly enough, some other fellow from Colorado is trying to get rid of one.
