I know it's pretty random, but I'm in need of a computer tech to fix a bunch of (relatively) minor things, and the occasional blue screen of death.  Before I call the Geek Squad, any other recommendations?

Thanks

Do NOT call the ghey squad.  They are a bunch of complete idiots, and butcher more systems then I can count.

What part of the state you in ?

I don't have a real recommendation of my own. However, the thing about putting a box of 00 buck into the computer...it will work just as well as calling Geek Squad and cost about fifty bucks less.

We tried to have them set up our home wifi network once. The three techs (on three separate visits) managed to each break something new with each visit.

We also enjoyed the arguments about paying for visits #2 and #3. Apparently, it's their policy to charge for return visits to break what they screwed up on the last visit. Now, I wouldn't buy a ten-dollar bill from them for five bucks. I mean, they're like the Dave's Guns of tech.

Drop me a PM, I will be back in town on the 2nd of June if you can wait.

Computers is what I do.

And if you are still considering the geek squad, you might as well do the factory restore yourself, that is mostly what they end up doing.

I do part time work setting up small company networks, in-home setups and repairs of computer systems, workstations and terminals, network setups, etc...

Unfortunately, I am in Denver, or I would offer to help out for a lot less than Geek Squad would charge.

I will be uploading some home-survival guides for some basic computer maintentance at some point.  Once I do, I will point you there.  I have an idea that some of those thins will severely aid you in some of your problems.

Good luck.
