This thread:Elk Hunting Thread reminded me to ask you guys about this Is it Legal to spot deer and other critters with a car spotlight in CO? |
|
NOPE wildlife.state.co.us/Brochures/ The antis have made big inroads here in the hunting realm. |
|
wildlife.state.co.us/regulations/ch03.pdf Page 7, no. 9 lists the only critters that can be spotlighted. I'd copy and paste it here but I guess I don't know how to do it from and .pdf document.

Hmmm. I am not hunting them with the spotlight, just looking for them with it. I guess I'll call someone about it. But I know that brings 5-6 different answers depending who you get on the phone. |

Oh. Did you check out the link? Somewhere it said it was considered "spotlight hunting" if you had a spotlight and a gun in the vehicle. So, in theory, you could spotlight the critters and be legal if you left your guns at home. But expect to be hassled if seen. Here it is on page 10, #8: wildlife.state.co.us/Brochures/BigGame/pdf/index_information.pdf |
