Looks like this is coming up for a vote and Dudley is trying to get support for it. I am ambivalant about it myself. I have CCW right now after jumping through some hoops and paying a couple hundred dollars, so I would be sort of bummed if everyone got to do it this year. On the plus side, it would be cool to have carry just like Vermont & Alaska. |

DO you have any more info on this? edited to add: www.leg.state.co.us/CLICS2004A/csl.nsf/fsbillcont3/868BE7B8AE3DA28287256E1500638B4D?Open&file=1281_01.pdf |

I would rather carry concealed than open. I have no desire for people to know what I have on my person. If/when people know that you have a gun, they have a known quantity of what you are. Yes, it may intimidate them and cause them to leave you alone. However, it may also give them a chance to formulate a plan on how to disarm you. In addition, I do not desire questions on 'what kind of gun is that', or 'why do you carry a gun' or anything of the like. I don't wear muscle shirts or prance my Schutzhund dog down the street for intimidation purposes. I think if someone chooses to open carry, that is great. It is just not my cup o' tea. I do not like drawing attention to myself. |
