Anyone locally chopping Glock 17 frames down to accept G19 mags?

If you have Facebook go look up Bellande Custom, he is in the Seattle or Tacoma area and does an absolutely amazing job on all the guns he works on.

I'd just do some measuring and lop the bulk of it off with a hack saw and clean up the cut on a bench mounted belt sander.  I tend to be pretty handy around this stuff though, and I'm not scared to make mistakes.  Making the first cut on a perfectly good anything is the hardest, it gets easier after that. Lol

Might be a good time to fire up the soldering iron and stipple it after it's cut off as well.

I actually want to do this one day, just have to find a deal on a 17 first. It would make something I'd call a 19L.

Sight radius of the 17 and the ability to conceal like the 19.

Good explanation.

Get a Springfield XD compact.  Full length slide, short grip.  That's what I did.

Years ago I did a 17-26 and more recently a 19-26. Sold the 17-26 to a buddy and have regretted it ever since haha.

I know sight radius is cool and all, but this is still a bizarre modification to me.  To each their own I guess. Prolly just a matter of time before we see a 17L with the frame chopped even with the trigger guard and a custom super low capacity mag. "You sure can conceal it!"

Some of these conversions are restaurant quality too...

fun pics

yikes.

Yeah, but then you have a crappy XD instead of Glock!

The reason given for cutting down the 17 frame is really a pretty good one.  Plus, you would get additional velocity (a little) in addition to the longer sight radius.

Cheap PD trade in G22 with a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel. Chop grip to 19 dimensions. I actually have this set up, just havent got past scribing the cut on the G22 frame.
