Anyone else get one of these?
Lived here for 15 years. Had to fight with them to find out if I was in the extortion district the first few years, moved here after the rigged election that authorized the Ripoff Taxing Authority. It had been all good until now. Guess they aren't bringing in enough dough to support the empty buses and empty trains.

I don't get it.  Now what the hell are they trying to tax you for?   This state has got some issues....  I've never seem more freeloading, free-spirited, commie loving liberals in all of my life.

Sound Transit/RTA:
In the mid 1990's some of the feeble minds in the Puget Sound area came up with an idea for a regional system of empty buses and trains, to supplement the empty, individual county buses.
The first time it was put on the ballot it failed. The feeble minds did what political hacks do, looked at where it won/lost and redrew the boundaries. They were victorious the second time around.
The funding for Sound Transit comes from an excessive tax on motor vehicle licenses. Automobile owners get to pay for the empty buses that clog the roads and freeways and the empty trains too. Too be fair, I believe the sounder train does get ridden but the cost per rider/trip could put all of the riders in individual town cars with change left over, if I remember correctly.
I haven't had to pay this for the last 15 years after I was assured that the rta didn't extend to my address. Sound Transit refused to provide a detailed map of the precincts that were "allowed" (as their website describes it) to vote on their existence.

What would happen if you changed the address on your driver's license and automobile registrations to a PO box outside of the RTA district?

IIRC, you can have a POB for a mailing but you need a physical home address for the registration.  I had to provide proof of that address when I changed to a PO years ago.  May be diff now, YMMV etc.

This. I believe a law, regulation, whatever was enacted to prevent good people from doing just that.

Not that I'm advocating anything, but UPS Stores have mailboxes with addresses that look like regular residential addresses, and they will forward your mail to your real address for you.  It's not too pricey for a small mailbox.
