Hi all, work might be taking me up to washington state. I was wondering if some of you WA guys could chime in and give me a run down of the gun laws. 1) Can I have and use my suppressors there? 2) Can I have and use my SBR there? 3) What about switchblades and OTF knives? Im a LEO btw, Im not sure if that makes any difference in the laws. These are all personally owned, not for work. Thanks |

Silencers are legal to use on a firearm as long as they are registered with the feds, there are no other laws on the books about them. You can hunt with them also.
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.250 SBR are for military, police and dealers; offical use only, no personal ownership allowed unless registered prior to July 1, 1994. I have been told that LEO's can not buy their own SBR duty weapon either. But I am not sure how true this actually is. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.190 Switch blade knives are only for official duty also. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.250 Except for the silencers, you are as screwed as the rest of us. We are working on SBR/SBS with bill 2099, but it has died a few times already. Ranb |
