Pike's Place is the public market you've probly seen a clip of aytime the TV references Seattle. Pretty fun, for people watching. It's covered, but better on nice weekends. A "been there done that" type experience.

Rainier Armsis a one of our stellar local debt providers. They have a pretty nice candy shop set up down in Kent WA (about 30 minute drive out of downtown seattle).

We are getting some pretty nice days, hope the weather pans out for your visit.

Back up behind pikes in "Post Ally" is nice bar called Kells.

Pioneer square has a lot of larger bars, some of which are historic places that have been open a LONG time.

Ballard/ Freemont have tons of great breakfast places (and old school drinking bars like Molly McGuire's).

Mountains, hiking, scenic drives, all sorts of stuff to do.
The big question is, what do you like to do/ think you'd like to do?  Seattle has so much going on, there's WAY more to do than will fill up a weekend, and depending on when and where you want to be, traffic can eat up a lot of the day, so it's good to sort of plan around that.  For being a tiny ass state, it can take a long time to get places.

You looking to start a crime spree with a rented roscoe?

I'll trade guide services for an hour in  the Boeing simulator.

(Seriously, consider that it rains 367 days a year here and there are only 4 hours' daylight in winter. It's surprising there aren't more killing sprees.)

ETA: Try Wades or West Coast Armory, both in Bellevue. Take a friend, they won't rent to a single individual since some folks want to commit suicide with a rented gun.

I would get you in the simulator if i could . I'll try to take some videos of it .

Looks like west coast armory is better than wades on the rental side . Il update with pics from boeing if i can get some .

And the price side, the employee side, the range quality side...

Is this for real? I have been there many times but always with a buddy. I have thought of going on my own plenty of times and just never did. This would be good to know.

Wades and Sam's IIRC both have that policy

If you have your own firearm with you, a friend, or are a member, or have a valid CPL, they will rent to you. They just don't want some whack job off the street renting a gun and popping themselves on the range. Unfortunately, that happened at Wade's when it was only a few years new and most other ranges have adopted that policy as a result.

They'll rent to a single individual *if* you also bring in your own gun. If you don't have one, you're SOL. The logic being, I presume, that if you already own a piece, you would have just done the deed in your garage at home. Makes sense to me.

If you're into planes, I would seriously recommend checking out the Flying Heritage Museum in Everett (about 30 minutes N. of Seattle).

Loads of rare historical warplanes and even a few tanks and AAA pieces (T-34, Flak 88, etc), including a rare piloted V-1 and some other gems. It's a pet project of Paul Allen who set this up to preserve and maintain historical planes in flying condition. They fly them all once a year, wtih the exception of the V-1 (they don't land so good) and the Me 163 Komet. Very cool collection.

Might be able to recommend some other stuff, but would need to know what you're into.

Last I heard they dont plan on flying the "Dora" either, but it is airworthy, or soon to be if not now.

Just got back and i couldnt get any pictures ! They wouldn't allow it ! But i will tell you about my flight experience in the simulator.

We walk in and my cousin gives me a quick run down on how to fly a plane . ( 5 min lesson ) . We did some pre light checklists and soon enough i took off all by myself . Flew around seattle for an hour then we tried some landings . First and second landing was almost perfect . although if there were passengers they would have spilled there coffee . Third landing we added cross winds and ice on the runway which ended up with me crashing in the grass a couple feet off the runway . Then we simulated a complete fog out with no visibility and two engine failures and restarts . I avoided the volcano and some cranes before i got the engines back up to speed . This was awesome ! I took out the space needle due to poor navigation haha . That simulation felt so real it was awesome ! We toured around the labs and factorys where they manufacturer and test everything . I bumped into one of the vice presidents . (Literary bumped into ) .
