Washington Hometown Forum Help & Links Page

Welcome to the Washington Hometown Forum, (WA HTF). Below, you’ll find a great deal of useful information about our common interests. The information has been assembled by a collective, (and generous), effort of many WA HTF members. Please review it at your leisure, and feel free to contact either Phil_in_Seattle or migradog if you see a broken link, or if you have an idea for any information, (or otherwise), that would make a good addition to this page.

Here are very useful links to the OLD WA Equipment Exchange and the NEW WA EE which when accessed, shows only posts by other members from Washington State. You can access the rest of the Equipment Exchange, listed by categories, by using the link in the header section of all forum pages.

Be sure to check out the videos made by our own PCR-00, by clicking on the pictures below. They are made from many photos and video captured during several of the frequent get-togethers we enjoy attending with each other.

These functions are open invitation to all members, as well as their friends and family. Most events are planned right here in the WA HTF, so they’re simple to learn about and schedule for. All members have a voice in how these functions come together, so feel free to speak up and put your opinions in with ours, so we can make the best of these fun opportunities. No one person or group is in charge, (unless the event is hosted at their home), and every voice is equal. Courtesy and a sense of humor are about all you’ll need to have a great time, as people from all walks of life are welcome and accepted by all.

These functions are not sponsored or supported in any way. There is no charge, but you are solely responsible for all of your own needs. Please prepare wisely for the outdoor events especially.

The locations of WA HTF organized shoots and general shooting locations can be a sensitive issue. We have chosen to be discreet about sharing the information in the open forum, to protect & ensure our future use of them. Asking for coordinates or driving directions to a place to shoot besides commercial clubs and ranges, will seldom get answered directly, or in a positive light. Our sport has been at the mercy of unfortunate political trends more and more, but through intelligent choices, we can continue enjoying our freedoms without further undue harassment or limitations.

You can also benefit by reading the current suggested guidelines of our largest event, LCR Shoots, written courtesy of Team Member CarbineMonoxide, the WAHTF Bar Analogy written by PCR-00, and filling out the WAHTF Questionnaire.

Many of the members here are doing much more than their own part, by spending their own time and money on cleaning up after other irresponsible shooters at various locations around the state. The minimum we ask of everyone, is that you take everything you bring, back out with you. Trash, brass, hulls, targets, etc.. Leaving these locations better than we found them, is the key to long term positive gain. Also, please avoid glass or otherwise messy targets, unless you have a method for retrieving all of it when you leave.

WAHTF is a busy section of AR15.com, with many knowledgeable & friendly members active. Enjoy your time here, and take notice that even with its own brand of humor and frequent embrace of controversy, there are many very wholesome folks behind the screen.

Uses of Instant Messages are encouraged if you have something to say or ask directly to one single member. (Especially if it falls outside the scope of AR15.coms Code of Conduct)

Any questions or concerns that you might have regarding forum policy or otherwise, can be answered by either of your moderators, Phil_in_Seattle or migradog. Feel free to IM or email either or both of them at any time.

Buying or Selling items in the WA Hometown Forum

As per the AR15.com Code of Conduct "2.) Individuals interested in selling or trading equipment should resort to the Equipment Exchange. At no time should an item be listed in any discussion forum. (This includes links to auctions.)". The following guidelines should be helpful if you are looking to buy or sell something here on AR15.com

1. You should not list an item for sale in the WA Hometown Forum, All "For Sale" listings should be done in the Equipment Exchange

2. You should not list a want ad in the WA Hometown Forum, "Want to Buy" Listings should go in the Equipment Exchange (It is, however, OK to ask in the Hometown Forum if a local shop/dealer has something you are looking for in stock)

3. If you are conducting a transaction with another member, Use IM or offline communication, do not discuss it in the Forum.

4. If you would like to see items that are being sold by members of a particular state, staff has provided a state by state search engine HERE
