Well, time is flying by and creeping by at the same time. I was home for two weeks back in October. The wife and I took our daughter to Disneyland for her second birthday for the first week then I came back to Central Washington for a week. I needed a vacation from my vacation. I got into SOCAL a couple of days before my family which allowed me some quality time with a bottle of Makers. I met them at the airport all "Contractored out" in my 5.11 gear, boots, shemagh and obligatory goatee. I'm no longer the fatty I was in those photos from when I first came in country. When I came home from leave I was down 30 pounds in 4 months. My wife said I looked quite imposing and my daughter didn't recognize me at first because she's never seen me with facial hair. After a second when she recognized me she said "Look! Papa's a pirate!" Well, I prefer the term "Privateer" but she's two so I'll let it slide. Spent a hectic week at the "House of the Mouse" and came home to have a tooth pulled, relax a bit, teach a Utah CFP class, relax a bit more, and take care of the maintaince projects that hadn't been attended to. Then back over here. I started on a new build using a High Mountain Hunting Supply billet "Black Mountain Lower" in Clear anodized that looks a bit like Coyote, Coyote Magpul PRS, DPMS LPK and a stripped A3 upper that I had lying around. I'm going to pick up a Midwest Industries coyote forend, I need to talk to DTECH about a barrel and Tom about a BCG. I'm going to top it with a Barska SWAT 10 - 40 x 50 scope and put a Harris bipod on it. I've kind of fallen into a groove and I'm just grinding away. It's been opening up some more opportunities and I guess that is a good thing looking at how the economy continues to stagnate back home. Unfortunately that means that I am looking at a second back to back deployment. Take care all TS |
