well, there were no .50cal ammo cans to be had at the WAC Show today; but I did get (3) folding knives sharpened up; and found this nice/clean Model 1898 30/40 Krag Jorgensen Rifle being pedaled off by a Member … I just couldn’t pass up the Deal at $200 with (2) boxes of Remington® Express Core-Lokt™ 180gr. PTD Soft Point and the leather sling.

note: I got there around 09:30 and the parking lot was nearly loaded to full capacity.

yeah I kinda like the design too, and after finally figuring out what model of rifle this was, in this old 1953 photo of my grand-father; I quickly put one of these on my short-list; and with the price of the Remington® Core-Lokt™ ammunition at an average of cost of $29.00 a box; the price of the carbine comes down by nearly $60 for a total of $140 for the vintage carbine.

I'd be inclined to go to the WAC (in spite of Herr General Principles), but I'm fucking borke this time. Just barely had enough time money to buy some rum.

Let me know what you saw there, might want to go next time.

eta: Love the 1953 deer pics. I hate it when I can put myself in the pics...

Nice rifle and pics.

I picked up 3.5k of 223 brass, some 30-30 brass, and a butt stock for my next AR build.

So many tables, they opened up the 3 end rooms.

Ammo prices are coming down to reasonable levels again.

They has some good deals the is weekend... There was a m1917 for 250 that needed a hand guard. I went back to get it and it was gone...

They also had other good deals like a Magpul Moe with tube and spring and buffer for 65 bucks. It fits nicely on my Surplus Arms Lower. Also found a WWII M1 Carbine stock that needs some work. It has the S'G' cartuoch... 20 bucks for that.

Almost bought a 14.5" M4 barrel for 275. Passed on that I think its was a good price. Was looking for a M1 Garand rear sight and found none

All in all a better than average fun show....

Went down this AM to renew and walk around before it got crowded.  Picked up a set of 4 E. German bakelite 74 mags w/ surplus pouch for $30.  Eyed a couple of nice condition Enfields, but decided to save the money for my vacation next year instead.

after donating $20 to Wounded Warriors and $15 for Cub Scout popcorn I bought 2 boxes of magtech from SAA for $20 and a Tomahawk from SOG.

Couldnt find anything I actually wanted.. Looking for a used 4x scope but nothing.. and couldnt even find decent shotguns. Also took my mom and dad to have a sort of family outing. Bought them lunch and paid for their entry.

thanks, and I’m especially pleased with Krag Jorgensen Carbine; and even though it’s been modified numerous times over the years; I’m looking forward to getting it on the range.
