on friday i took the xj through the emmissions place and failed the driving CO2....prior to going through all i did was an oil change and swapped the air filter out...i also was driving for a half an hour first...
so over the weekend i swapped the shitty platinum plugs (they were free) for some champions and threw some seafoam into the gas tank...i went and got re-tested and this time i passed the driving CO2 levels , but failed the idiling CO2 (which had passed on fri).. anyone got any ideas what i can do? |

Quoted: anyone got any ideas what i can do? Run a full tank of 92 octane plus some Lucas treatment (Either that or an octane-boost treatment that utilizes "Jet Fuel")...Bump that shit in your tank to 94+ octane run a tank or so through it, refuel with 92 and re-attempt. Sounds like a simular problem I had with running Low-test for too long, I had a some pinging when I needed to get up to speed from a stop. What I was told is that it's the same as the problem you describe, basically, you need to get rid of any build up on the cylinder heads and such. Either that or get an address in the LCR....
