Seems like me and my buddy missed all the Hunter Ed courses available this year. Anybody know of offseason options to get Hunter Ed done so I don't have to worry about it anymore? CA DFG doesn't have record of my CA license as it is too old and I never actually put it to use, so I can't fudge my way in.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Call the person listed under Hunter Ed.  There's a class next month, but it may be full.

ETA: I don't know if that's open to the public or if membership is required.  Call and ask.

You can get a one time deferral if you can find a sponsor.

I've been told that you don't really need to attend the class, you just need to be able to pass the test. It's moo for me so I've never looked into it.

Hunter ed? Shoot it. It dies. Field dress it. Cut it up. Wrap and freeze. Eat when hungry.

Take the course online if you can find a local shooting range that will sign off on your shooting.

I did mine through Cascade (the link that clown_gun posted) and thought it was done very well.  Granted that it was me (27 yo) and a bunch of 14 year olds I had a good time.  I did the distance learning where I went once, took the material home and completed it over a month or so, and went back and took a test.  Good people and a good club.  If you choose this route rememeber that the class is at their club house not their range.
