If I bought a small trailer, would I have to license it in WA? I own property in ID and WA, and primarily intend on using the trailer in ID. I'm not sure how this works, anyone know for sure? |

Technically yes you are supposed to lic in the state as your primary residence.
But in practice if you have it tagged in ID no one would probably give you a second look. I know in all my towing days I've never been stopped or questioned with a trailer/car hauler/RV in tow with or without registration current or not. Your truck insurance covers the trailer liability wise so you are covered there. |
| Idaho has titles, assuming the trailer is titled. My Circle J stock trailer is titled, but my homebuilt Craigslist freebie wasnt. Idaho plates/tabs for trailers are like $20 for the plate and $50 for 10 years of tabs, and are valid on any trailer you OWN. I'd say for the money register in Idaho as it will be primarliy used there on your Idaho property. No point in paying sales tax and higher yearly registration fees when it'll be out of state anyhow. |

fyi, idaho does'nt title trailers they just give you a registration washington does title trailers + registration. Last time I registered something they did need to see ID, though I'm betting with your green card instead of DL you could get by in idaho. T I haven't been to Idaho it quite awhile, but when I was there they did not take kindly to illegals. |

Josh....It's been a long time since I had to register anything DMV-wise...I wonder if they don't require any proof, just a mailing address?[/span] For some reason I think I ha o take my electric bill tot he DMV when I did my new bike. Sorry man I'm not 100% sure. Take 10 drop in and ask; honestly I have nt had my utility trailer tabed in 3-4 years and still use it 2-3 times a year. |

Quoted: IIRC Washington has been cracking down on out of state registrations. They really don't like seeing your big RV parked in your yard with OR plates on it. I'd bet that they have a hefty fine to smack you with if they catch you. That's why they invented tarps and car covers. |

Quoted: Lemme get this straight....I have to run the trailer thru emissions testing, and then, not bring the trailer I plan on only using in ID, into WA? If I do, I have to get it a green card, then register it in OR and put it under a trap? ![]() just send it to me for proper disposal... you can borrow it from the russians in between their human trafficking sessions ![]() |

Quoted: Don't know about trailers but some states you have lic your quad in even though its registered here. I have friends with 3 differnt lic.'s on a quad. I sure hope this helps. And that is kinda funny....My Boat and Jetski are good to go in any waters, any location I'm aware of ID and WA.(Well, as far as licensing goes, in reality, not so much anymore now that they've made LK CD'A a quarintine area due to the milfoil) It's most likely the DirtyHippyEcoNaziTreeHugging™ fear of something that can potentially sling dirt that has them pissing down their leg as far quads go. |
