thanks for the offer Tweak, but I got some help already from NataSS and son-in-law, and we got it half built this afternoon, and we’ll try to finish it up either tomorrow (weather permitting) or this coming weekend; as her birthday isn’t until the first week of May, so we have a bit more time ... or do we

is it done yet grandpa!

Hey, Globes bringing the firwood to LCR.

ETA: Perhaps under that high power pole isn't the best place to put the swingset

that is not a ‘High Power’ transmission pole … my Father worked at SCL for 35 years; and before he retired, he gave each one of the boys a sodium vapor ‘street-lamp’ for their home.

I had originally mounted the lamp to a semi-dead cedar tree that we topped and limbed out; but one winter (about 10 years ago) a high wind storm took the tree and lamp to the ground and through a small section of the fence line; so I picked up a fiberglass lamp-pole and installed a new bulb and photo-cell.

the ‘street-lamp’ has been on the property for nearly 28 years now; and it lights up my entire back yard and half of both the next-door neighbors as well ... and I’ve only had to change the bulb twice in nearly twenty-eight years

after ‘tax’ it was around 1k which isn’t that bad … especially if you compare it to ‘Metropolis’ model which comes in at well over 40k

I feel for you.  I've had mine for about 3 years.  In fact, over the weekend, I moved it to the in-laws house in preparation of putting my place on the market.  What a PITA.  Kids have a ball with it.

I don't think I've ever seen a worksite that orderly.

I suspect I'll be putting up one of these things this summer.

if there’s one thing that drives me crazy … it’s a trashed out job-site!

if you do? and your local? I might be available … 'will work for a cup of Coffee’

we finished up the swing-set ‘project’ this afternoon! and it will be ready for next weekend’s … Big First Birthday Party!

Then you'll want to keep it orderly.  These things are a frickin cluster fuck to put together and if you start getting things out of place the amount of cluster grows exponentially.

Good for you and the grand-daughters is a cutie.  I put one of those aluminum swing sets together one year and the directions covered every model the company made except the one I bought.  It is time for it to come down and it fulfilled its obligation of childhood memories.

I'd look out the window and the kids would be hanging upside down, falling off, 4 of them would slide into each other and there would be a big pile-up at the bottom...at the end of those long summer days there would be Popsicle sticks, wrappers, flip flops, socks, shoes, water pistols and other detritus around the thing because we have the house and yard that the neighborhood kids play in, not to mention we always have Otter pops..

I tried to find an old tire that wasn't steel belted for a tire swing, I'm sure if I kept looking I would have found a unicorn first.
