Philippine wimmenz, yup. Philippine pistols, not so much. I'm kind partial to the Canadian models, though it's mostly because I like 'em stacked.

Are you interested in building your own? if you are try caspian. if not

Kimbers (I have a TLE/RL with evil but functional external extractor)
Rock Island if you want to go cheap

other 45s
Sig 220
HK 45
CZ 97

What do you want to do with it? Carry, home defense or other?

A lot of folks don't like 'em, but I love my Taurus 1911. Good value on a loaded pistol. For a more basic one, the Rock Islands are supposed to be good value.

Mostly look at it, put it on a shelf, dust it off every once and a while.

Springfield's look to be a decent buy.

Great, something else I'll to save up for.
Probably in the $1500~$2000 range, no doubt.

Very nice!  Aside from the adjustable rear sight, very "MEU/SOCish"!

I have several Colt's.

I recommend them very highly.

Just after Colt, I recommend Kimber.

Look at the Springfield Loaded or TRP. If you're on a low budget, well, they aren't hard to find. I'd recomend going with a full sized model. They conceal just fine and you get more out of them.

I have been rocking a High Standard 1911, built by ArmsCor. Owned it 2 months, everyday carry, 600 rounds down the pipe. 6 different types of ammo, have not cleaned it yet, zero problems, no FTF's, no FTE's no no problems.

Best part: $450, out the door with tax.
