I was surprised and got called into work today. Met the mechanic at the door..."Your truck isnt here. It went out to get that leaking pump fixed." Turn around & there is my Supervisor. "Doesnt matter, you arent driving today". "You have a piss test, then you can go home, 4 hours showup pay".

Quoted: october here, and its a giant pain in the ass, we have aprox. 500 parts to count in my area, quanties from 0-10,000.Quoted: Inventory of another nature, but yes... And getting serial numbers of PC's under desks and racked servers is sometimes a PITA but it's all I really have to do today and tomorrow. I did that back in November. ![]() |

I do more than enough counting, verifying, reconfirming, signing off, and getting more sign offs.
The first time we did inventory at MSU there was a large quanitity of items to count. The next year they had changed the policy and only things valued at over $10,000 had to be inventoried. Machines weighing several hundred pounds or that were 20ft long had to be counted but easily taken things like cameras, lenses, laptops (not for us but other departments), etc., no longer had to be accounted for.

I hate you!
Got to the shop this morning and got told to count my truck. My truck contains enough plumbing stuff to plumb most of 3-4 houses plus lots of service parts. At least I have a propane heater, a bbq, a bunch of venison in the freezer and a case of beer in the fridge. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Today I have the great joy of inventorying 7.3 million board feet of pine and cedar logs in our sawmills log yard. Now, we know that there are EXACTLY 7.3 million feet of boards inside of these 44 log decks, anally and electronically entered by no less than a dozen handheld computers since 1 Jan. 09.
So here I am, with pencil and clipboard in hand, VERIFING what we all ready know. Luckily for me today our two resident coyotes, Bert and Peter have decided to follow me around to make sure that I don't fuck anything up.
I pissed out this mornings coffee between two log decks only to have Bert and Peter arrive at the yellow spot in the snow not fifty feet behind me and both proceed to piss in the same spot. Makes me wonder which one of us is the alpha male on this turf today. I have a bag of Corn Nuts in my jacket pocket and have been leaving a trail of these in the snow for them as we move about these log decks today. Peter is without question the alpha male of the two, but interestingly he allows Bert to eat about every 10th to 12th Corn Nut. Inventory seems a little more enjoyable today than it did at this time last year...... |
