Service Unavailable
Explanation

The service required by Fortress is located on a junctioned back-end server that is temporarily down.

Honestly, in my line of work, I've been on UC a few times, but never to this point, and certainly never to where it's been like this since 8 am this morning.

If this doesn't tell the "Powers-that-be" that they'd best figure out how they are screwing up the economy, nothing will.

Maybe they laid off their network guys.

I used to get that all the time.  I would refresh 106 times before it would finally go through.

It means there are more people trying to make their weekly claim than the system can handle. Many folks who had their UE benifit run out just got 14 more weeks so there is a big influx of people reporting this week.

It is overloaded on Sundays.......do it by phone............

The best time, is to do it 12am Saturday night (actually 12am Sunday)....

This is a different message than the "the system os overloaded" message they normally have. I suspect it is indeed down, not just overloaded.

You'll get that same message if you try to file right at 0000 Sunday.  I usually waited until 0030 or if I didn't file then I'd wait until after 10pm on Sunday night.

WRONG!

I tried that once. It was just as bad or worse than in the morning.
This morning was bad but I still got on in <10 minutes.

The reason you can't just get right on is because of the overload of unemployed people. Plain and simple.

Best time is Sunday morning around 7am.

Ok, man......whatever works for you, I'm not a specialist or an analyst on the matter but it's nice that there are some in the crowd.

For such a well educated, brilliant disposition one might wonder why there are such lulls voids in one's career path?

Whatever the reason or reasons it gives them the hands on knowledge to know that someone saying The best time, is to do it 12am Saturday night (actually 12am Sunday is wrong and is completely out of their lane.

I have been dealing with it since April, you just have to be patient. This week will be worse because they only accept untill Weds, at midnight. It only delays the check one day if you file monday. It sucks but thats the way it is.

So tonight, I think I broke it.

After trying and getting the above response about 15 times, I got this one:

The application you are attempting to access is unavailable

The agency application server that provides the function you are attempting to access is not available at this time.

This could be due to the server being offline or a network problem. It is not the result of an issue with the Fortress service.

Solutions

Please contact the support team for the application you are trying to reach or try again at a later time.

Sorry guys, I think I broke it

It is that way every Sunday, nothing new. I see it almost every week. Best thing to do is get up early monday AM and you can get in real easy.

Interesting.  What OS are you using?

I had the same problem when I tried filing with this computer using Vista.  When I hooked up the cable modem to the old computer using XP I didn't have any problem at all.

Now I just call in on Sunday mornings and haven't failed to get through once.

Mine uses XP - sorry, guess there's not really a connection - unless I go into the other room and use the Vista machine THen we'll really be confused
