| So who's into it, I mean doing NOT watching. |
| You don't look too bad, just peel off a thin layer of fat and your fine, the muscle structure is there already. The good thing about MMA training is that it disposes of as many normal rules of human conduct as possible without killing your opponent, hence the term "as real as it gets" it's no B.S. |
|
MMA is fun and you're right, you get to bang-it-out without the risk of seriously hurting somebody. I've had my fair share of MMA training mid-late 90's, the stamina training is probably the best I got out of it; other than going from striking to ground techniques......which is good too. But, you tend to use those very same techniques in a real-life confrontation and that can be dangerous.
I'm not discrediting it at all, I just like to train in real-life scenarios dealing with adversity. If you train close to my area, I wouldn't mind hookin' up with ya and checking out your system. |
Indeed MMA training can put you at risk in real life, but I will take it any day over the usual martial arts training I did for years before. The heavy risk is not knowing what to do and how to destroy an opponent when he has his hands around your throat. Years ago I thought being on your back was the end, now it's just the beginning to getting your opponents arm broken, if your being kind, worse if your in a bad mood And dead if it's really important to you.

I have done quite a bit of training back in the day and I also have some family that are in the biz. One cousin just turned pro and the other is a great up and coming fighter (Am NW Champ). The thing is that we always take about real situations and life or death training as well.
For example, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is far less impressive in the real word. I don't know about you guys, but I am not going into the guard in the middle of a bar floor or gravel driveway. By the way MOGWAR, keep it up man, you look like you are training hard dude! Almost like a buffer stunt double for wolverine! haha |

This thread has a hint of teh ghey. Funny how that never occurs to me but there is always someone who's mind can locate gayness (real or imagined) in almost anything, HMMMM, I wonder what thats about? I mean no offense, but just look at these huge fuckin' nipples, man.
|
....that's some funny, fucked-up shit right there!! The fact that you knew it existed, is alarming........I don't feel as ghey now.
|
|
Well now, that explains a lot. I didn't know there are differnt levels. |

So who's into it, I mean doing NOT watching. Just wondering, what is wrong with being a fan of the sport and NOT getting into the ring/cage? I enjoy watching someone get KTFO , but I'm not so much of fan of getting punched in the face, just a personal preference. |

But of course, when you smack my ass and say, "that was some good shooting, man" at LCR then that's just the typical LCR gay fagotry (signs of potential gheyness).........hence, 'What happens at LCR, stays at LCR' But, when you post shit that tries to define who's ghey or not.......then, you are obviously fishing the waters to see who to rape and who not to. (That's just flamin' meat-packin' signs that are quite scary I might add) - Level 106

Nothing wrong with that at all, I already figured there must be quite a few of you who like to watch the UFC fights. And I don't really care for getting hit in the face either, it really hurts sometimes ![]() ![]()

Yup try to train at least once a week these days.
Just competed in a local submission wrestling tournament on saturday for the first time. Will prolly do another one in december, then an ammy kickboxing match or two and then take some time and look for my first MMA fight. Its going to be a busy winter/spring for me
|
| I fought competativley for 2 years. Lightweight (155lbs) in both MMA, submission and pankration. I won the last lock flow sub tourney @ 155lbs and am 6-0 inside the fence. I stopped fighting when life began to normalize for me. I have been kicking around the idea of getting back in but my age (and mind set) just isnt there as much. i still love to fight though. If youre close to the north end, I have some pads and would be more than happy to work some drills with you. |
|
Quoted: North end of what, I thought you where in another country with that little blue flag thing by your screen name, what is that? *Facepalm* Welcome to the WAHTF, take NOTHING at face value. This area is broke down into 3 distinct areas. Dry side: everything east of the mountains. Wet Side: everything on the west side of the mountains but on the wet side you have north end and south end. South end containes areas south of seattle to the oregon border. North end is from seattle to the Canadian border. There are sub areas of each area, however those are the big 3. |
Guns are the best weapons but your body is ALWAYS with you.
