Are those Lupes (Loop? Loupe? Lup?) sitting loose in the bottom right box? If so, won't they get scratched? Loupes. They were wrapped up in my lab coat to prevent that, but I took it out for the picture. Quoted:
Holy shit...What are you going for? Watchmaking, while truck driving. |

Yeah, but you guys have a hell of a lot more tools than I do. Besides, mine are imported from Switzerland, that automatically triples the price from what it should be.

Too bad... I bought out a 50YR watchmaker at the beggining of the year. Even got the lathe. This stuff is plumb full. Also have a HUGE amount of spare parts, including a ton of factory Rolex parts. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll243/Stokespump/IMG_0450.jpg Well, if you're looking to rid yourself of it......

I know how to make meatloaf. Making fun of you is worth not having it made for me anymore.
ETA: Besides, I know your wife is really in charge, and she's also the one who does the cooking. She likes me, I won't be hungry next time I'm at your house. FUCK YOU! |
| We do a yearly toolbox invintory for insurance replacement they totaled up over $400k for 11 mechanics. the district was considering providing us with tools so they would not have too replace our broken or worn out tools and got the quotes from the tool trucks, they decided it was way smarter too continue too replace our broken tools. |

I started with the smaller toolbox, but it filled up pretty quickly. I probably could have gotten away with just the larger one, but I didn't want to have to repack everything again. You've helped with how many moves (including your own) lately?...And you still haven't learned to pack the big stuff first, and then pack the little stuff around it?

I know, but I didn't have the bigger toolbox when I started, just the small one. I didn't get the larger one until the smaller was already full. |

I have a friend that used to do watch and clock repair and closed his store down - somehow his exwife had all his tools at her place when they split (short version: he lives in WA, she took a job in MASS was there for 2 years leaving him to pay the mortgage while she spent all the money she earned (his income at the time 12K, hers 100K)
Upshot was he flew out east to get the tools back. Now that he's divorced he's getting back in to clocks - mostly for fun. He's looking for a cuckoo clock for me |

So I went in to school The best part is, these tools are only enough for me to go work in an already well equipped shop. If I wanted to open my own shop I'm looking at another $250,000 just in tools and supplies. Only $250,000? But will you make any money? Go get your $25 business license and post an ad on Craigs list every week. (start out doing side work with what you can do with the tools you have) If you are any kind of sales guy you will have that $250 K in one to three years. i wish all I had to do was invest $250K, as I see it my tool box is a bottomless pit that going to cost millions as I expand and grow. Having a business is a state of mind or a life style, not a job. |
