Summary: - Nichols out. - Hutchison ran away with the King County Exec votes. - "No" on the grocery bag tax. Sounds like a 3/3 victory for people of sound mind. It's about time. |

Ballots could be dropped off until 8pm Tuesday night there are plenty of uncounted ballots remaining.
The next result report will be out at 4:30pm. * Mike McGinn - 16,891 votes (26.58%)
* Joe Mallahan - 16,376 votes (25.77%) * Greg Nickels - 15,921 votes (25.06%) Seattle has ~375,000 registered voters. I'd guess 30-40% will actually vote. It's encouraging to see Mayor mccheese taking a beating early on. The top two will go onto the November general election. The city of Edmonds skipped bag taxes and just had the city council council vote to ban single use retail bags. They have to do an environmental review and vote again to make it final. |

In before the lawsuits and the recounts! No shit, this could get comical and entertaining. Supposedly Seattle's broke, so it will also be interestig to see who pays for the lawsuits and recounts, and I dont even live close and were all watching for the calimity to begin

Don't get your hopes up, Mike McGinn is a Sierra Club activist. This.. No matter what, Seattle gets a new retard.. That is all. I don't live in Seattle. I can't affect the outcome of the voting. But really? I actually work with Joe Mallahan. He sits on the same floor of the same building as I do. Hell, he was the director of my workgroup before our re-org last year. He's one hell of a guy, very personable, and is always easy to chat with. I can't say that he would make a perfect mayor, but I know in his current position, he has plenty of opportunities to influence change and coordinate efforts and he does a good job. Having said that... it's not as if we discuss politics all the time, so I can't say whether or not his views align with mine. But at the same time, in this situation it doesn't matter. I'm just glad he's not a silly ass-clown jumping in the Puget Sound while wearing a suit like that one ass clown.

And now it's my turn to eat crow about Mallahan. Not because he's a bad person, but because his politics obviously suck:
