I almost regret opening my email today, got one from my mom, they found a sizable lump and believe she has breast cancer
Going to get a mammogram on tues and talk to a surgeon, hope this ends alright |

They won't know for sure until they biopsy it. Usually a needle biopsy. It's not always cancer. My wife, my sister in law and just recently my wifes coworker have all had a scare with the same thing and all 3 turned out to be just fine. Hang in there. Hope all goes well. |

What DoberDude says is true. It's not always bad news. Our family went through this same scare with my mom 36 years ago. She's still around! Hope things turn out for the best. |

Some encouraging news, my wife is a 14 year survivor. If she does the right thing she can survive for many years. She will too, shes extremely healthy otherwise, could count the times she has drank in her life on 1 hand, never smoked, always ate right. I'm sure she will be fine but you know, it is troubleing none the less. |
| I found out my mom had breast cancer in 01. To say I was down was an understatement but we all pulled together and supported her even though I was stuck overseas at the time (ran up the phone bill) and she beat it. She had the wigs and we all wore them and all kinds of hokey stuff to keep her spirits up. The doctors will do the treatment but it seems to really help when the family gives the kind of support only family can. Also there are many false alerts with breast cancer so most of the times its nothing but even if it is something there are many survivors and medicine progresses everyday. Best of luck to her. |
