Sorry to hear about the job loss. Quoted:
Decades of dismantling our manufacturing based infrastructure could have led to nothing but this. But ARFcom GD told me that every American can be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, IT worker, etc. Manufacturing is for third world countries. Just ask Dave_A. |

Shitty deal man... Do what Gibby did, get the UI claim going ASAP. I did mine back in December online, I never once talked to a single person and received my checks with no problem via direct deposit until I stopped claiming.
What sort of work do you do, so that the rest of us can keep and eye out for something in your field??? |

Doin it now For the last 6ish years I've done the operation, maintenance, and administration of security systems for a biotech company. Basically ran and programmed the card readers, CCTV, and security monitors points for Seattle / Bothell / Canada. I also dabbled in institutional locksmithing. If anyone hears anything, let me know. I'm'a lookin. |

But even if they were right all the workers that are displaced by the "Made in China" syndrome will now be competing for these jobs they say are so easily obtainable. You can't have all chiefs and no Indians. |

you could start delivering RVs and ambulances. I heard an interview on the radio yesterday with a guy who does that. It pays about 50k/year and you just need a regular license (for the most part). Weirdness. I have a job I'm working towards now. Just gotta update the resume. Work work work. I'm busier now that I'm unemployed.

I'd spend 8 hours a day looking and be too exhausted to work on my own projects. |

My "in" job I'm hoping for is with my Security Integrator I used when I worked at the job I just lost. I'm #1 in the state for the security software we used, so it shouldn't be too hard... unfortunately its so advanced that not many people use it. I might contact Honeywell to find out if they know of any positions using the software since they make it / support it. |

As more people get laid off, less will be able to afford to shop at the stores, causing retail works to get laid off. Soon there won't be a need to monitor employees, former employees looking for a good bargin might be a different matter.

His Imperial Majesty Barack Hussein Obama I will make it all better.

Good luck, buddy. Not only do The Salt Mines have a hiring freeze on now, but we just happen to have discovered a brand, spankin' new (in the last three weeks) RIF policy... |

Sorry to hear about the loss of work. Try looking up Detection Logic (sp) seattle office on the web. They were hiring journeyman alarm techs, might be up your line. Also try ADI as they might be hiring sales. You have the knowlege. I do the Fire/security/cctv as a part of my job. Good luck |
