....smoking today. It's been 1hour so far. I bought alot of suckers and I've ate about 3 of them. 12 years of smoking and it's time to the habit. My body feels like this right now. This will be my 5th time trying to stop in the 12 years of smoking and I hope this is the last. Wish me luck.

| I kicked it by not hanging out with buddies that smoked for a while. You'll find the activities you did ie morning coffee and cig or after meal etc will suck with out for a bit. The actual nic craving goes away after a few days. I still miss the activity and if they made cigs that didnt blast the wallet or kill you I would smoke them. |

Best of luck to you... You can do it, I'm sure... My pops quit after 40+ years of smoking. Cold turkey back at the 1st of April. To my knowledge (I don't watch over him) he's still yet to have another one 2 months later. My dad quit after 50 years of a two pack a day Camel habit. Unfortunately, it took a major heart attack that almost killed him for that to happen. 12 years and 2 heart stents later, he's still hanging in there. |

Anyone know some one or has used the new eSmokes...my wife and I are thinking of getting one to help quit...I smoke way more then her so I just wanted to try to get some feedback on it...
I love mine. Do a Google or Bing search for E-Cigarette Forum. You'll find everything you need to know there. |

Watch "The Cat's Eye." It's got a great segment that shows one individuals attempt to quit smoking... Yes, I mean the Stephen King movie...
But really, good luck to you... I have tried to quit about 10 times now each lasting no more than a week... This last time I quit was in February this year... I just picked up again this week... Also, has anyone ever heard of a doctor suggesting you to smoke? So far, I have had three... They tell me it is a good way to calm down and is a good stimulant for my brain... I think that is one reason I have picked up again but it fucks with my sleep... |

Leave yourself no back door by making up your mind you will do it come hell or high water. Don't just try, do it. Hang in there. |

Good decision VR-15
I quit cold turkey maybe 15-20 yrs or so ago. Just be too strong and stubborn to fail. That's the key. If you need re-enforcement .... take a leisurely stroll through any of the local emphysema or cancer wards. If that don't do it ... nothing will. Best of luck |

8 hours and 20 suckers I'm still in. I feel like a crack head that needs a fix. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Do something physical. Go for a run or something that gets you breathing hard. Your lungs are going to feel like you are about to die and you won't want a smoke. Every time I got a craving I just did 20 pushups and it went away. Then I started again a year later! |

I would just like to point out that the people with the "Do or do not, there is no try" attitude about kicking addictions SHOULD feel the same way about divorce and marriage.
Based on this thread, and this one, that'd be: HABU 45ColtBisley OdT BusMaster007 FE427TP thanegrooms StrkAliteN gwitness And now I'll go hide.

![]() I do feel that way about marriage. I didn't get married till I was 28. My parents divorced and it affected me to the point I developed the attitude you speak of. I'm fortunate my wife feels the same way. 17 years later and it's still all good, for the most part. However, It seems to me that one person vs tobacco is a little different than one person in a marriage. It takes two people to make it work. If one has the Yoda attitude and the other is just in it for a starter marriage, it's probably not going to work out so well. I think lots of marriages are entered into casually. Not a good recipe for success. If a smoker is an advocate of personal responsibility, they understand that they alone are responsible for their success or failure. The depth of their fortitude will determine their success. |

I do feel that way about marriage. I know that some of the people on that list do feel that way. Others on the list, I don't really know how they feel. I don't feel/believe that "the other person wanted to walk away" is a valid excuse for divorce. Simple as that. If I said why I believe that, I'd probably seriously offend someone or several someones, so I'd rather not say. I'm simply voicing MY opinion on what I believe other people should think.
