Damn that was good!!!
That is all |

Quoted: Hell yeah! Damn that was good!!! That is all I have never been a Trekkie. Even though I am a huge SF fan I just couldn't get past the cheese of the TV show or the pansy plots of (most) of the movies. The newer shows never caught my attention enough to draw me in. But this movie could change all that. The acting was excellent, casting was perfect (once you get past the fact that he's not Sylar and not going to zip off the top of anyone's head) and the special effects were excellent (ILM). I'd definitely go see it in the theater again (saw it in IMAX last night) and will be buying the DVD when it comes out. The only real glitch was the shot of them building the Enterprise on earth. WTF is up with that? Everyone knows they have to build them in space. |

We liked it! Got there (Martin Way Regal in Lacey) and the IMAX theater was PACKED. Had to sit in the 3rd row! If you ignore the Star Trek legacy and take this movie 100% on its own, some bits are pretty cheesy. But I think they did a great job with it and it is full of action from start to finish.

Quoted: I too just saw it in IMAX at Southcenter. Good movie but I didn't think the IMAX was worth the extra four bucks. Good visual but the sound could have been better. Sir James... I haven't been to an IMAX show since I was a kid and saw (I think) the space movie at the Seattle Science Center. It seemed much more impressive back then. I'd go see it again on a normal screen (we've got a pretty good theater in Gig Harbor). |
