I was driving down our streed and saw a dark spot on the shoulder that usually isn't there. I went back to see if it was the mountain beaver that I saw in the same place last year or the year before.
Here he is before I swat his ass into the road. 
HE aint very happy with me. He's grinding his teeth together. 
Looks like a club footed model. He never used that foot and kept it curled up. So I shot him to put him out of his missery. 
How I knew it was a he. 
This, city folks, is why they are called mountain beaver. There's more tooth hidden under his gums than he's showing. 
Just kidding, I didn't shoot him.

Pretty sure that damn beaver had pig flu. I'm never shakin' hands with you again Habu! He may have had the swine flu. I drove by on the way out this morning and he was tits up on the side of the road. When I came back a couple hours later he was half eaten. 
I may have tipped him over the edge yesterday, but if I did he was on his way out anyway. Maybe I should have shot him. He wasn't really a healthy specimine. |
