Stopped by the Marksman today and was shocked to see several things. There were (2) NHM-91's hanging on the wall, both in RPK configuration. The wood furniture rifle was $1200 and the polymer $1100. Both looked to be lightly used. I asked the guy behind the counter about what the 922r compliance parts in the NHM's were and he just stared back at me blankly, he had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. Also in the shop was a Cetme with collapsable stock for $1425. There were also a few NIB Robinson XCRs in varying packages. Except for the number of Glocks and XDs it looked like a going out of business sale. There was a lot of empty real estate in the glass cases, they only had a shelf and a half of .22 LR handguns. With the exception of the XCRs it looked as though they were having to rely on consignments and personal stash to fill the rifle racks. It was a fairly pitiful sight. Have not made it around to any of the other shops lately, but I guress this is how shelves are going to look like for a while.

Had a phone call from a friend in Idaho today. It's worse there, $1400 for a used AR, and thats in the nickle paper, not in a shop.

Just picked up a LMT Defender 2000 complete lower receiver at Bullseye Shooters Supply in Tacoma yesterday.
Saw several Bennelli M3's and M4's, tons of AR's, AK's, M1A's, Garands, several FN FS-2000's and PS-90's, among many other rifles.
Lots of complete AR lowers in the counters/cases and the counters were lined up 3-4 bodies deep and doing a brisk business and their parking lots were packed (took me 20 minutes just to find parking).
Stopped in upstairs at the range and the sales counter up there was busy as well.

Stopped in at Shizzles the past two Saturdays and they were doing a very brisk business as well.
Picked up a complete LMT rifle-length MRP (DI) upper with 18" stainless 1-7 twist barrel assembly (as well as other goodies).

Quantico Tactical wasn't very busy, but their rifle racks were pretty much empty of semi-auto's...I hear they're in the process of fixing that soon.

Yeah, it's not like that everywhere.  As Arctangent said, Bullseye is very well stocked.  As is Welchers, looks no different than it ever did.  Plenty of good stuff as always.  Welchers is where I usually buy my reloading components.

However, Gun & Bow in Parkland is a different story.  Almost like they're getting out of selling guns...................just empty compared to what it used to be.  Buncha Hipoints, one good deal on a used S&W 3rd gen 9mm auto.................just almost nothin' left.  Wierd.

I haven't been out looking in any shops but it seems there are more
stripped lowers in stock online now than there were a month or so ago.
It may take awhile but supply could be catcingh up with demand, prices will stay high
at first and then begin a very gentle slide backwards (I hope).

Surplus ammo will remain hard to find at reasonable prices.

If a ban becomes more of a reality prices will go even higher.

It is all about the law of suppy, demand and fear.

Meh most gun bills being introduced this year are dropping like flies... AND a lot of states have been passing PRO Gun legislation... not to mention that even though Democrats have a ruling majority some of them are Pro-Gun, they vote on something that might affect gun owners with a negative tone and they won't get re-elected.

Also we've already been through a FAILED AWB so them trying to put another one saying it will "stem the tide" of violence will fall on deaf ears since we've already seen it doesn't work that way...

Say it with me boys & girls... THERE IS NO BAN. THERE WILL NOT BE A BAN.

At least not until Peloski gets reelected.

Guns and bows have been like that for atleast the year .  Cabelas has quite a bit of everything, except 1911's but supposedly their getting some more in soon.

Should have been at Cabela's today, the granola tard factor was so high i almost walked out but i had to get .38spl ammo (why does no one seem to carry it anymore? .38 will always be my choice of a deep BUG).  I had never in my life seen so many Obama/Biden 08, no war for oil and clean cut fleece families at a Cabela's.  I really wanted to get on the PA system and say "It's your fault that everyone is stocking up like the L.A. riots are tomorrow, i guess you did bring about hope and change by electing Obama".  I should start stock piling cash to use at the gun buybacks when they start.  The people buying their first "evil gun" today will be the first to sell/surrender it when the anointed one says so.

Kesselrings had a lot of Astro-turf in the pistol cabinets showing, still a lot of black rifles.  They had an Armalite AR-10T for $2300'ish.

That $2300'ish is a sliding scale.  I can't remember if it was $2200 or $2600.  I do know it was a .308 with a heavy SS barrel and fiberglass handguards.

At Bullseye, I had a difficult time getting close enough to the firearms to read the prices on the tags because the sales counter was 3-4 people deep all the way across the counter.

There were three SIG-556 (pistol-style) rifles in the glass display cases and two SIG-556 SWAT's up in the racks, but I couldn't get close enough to see the prices.  There was two fully decked-out Bennelli M4 shotguns there were priced at $1699 (about the going price everywhere I looked).  There were 5-6 AK's (looked like Arsenal AK's to me) but I simply couldn't push my way in close enough to see the prices on the tags (so many people!)

At least 30 complete AR lowers in the glass display cases beneath the sales counter...various prices around the high $300's to low $400's.
I purchased my complete LMT Defender 2000 lower out-the-door in the low-$500 range (after taxes) so I was happy.

When I got home and assembled the LMT lower (from Bullseye) and the 18" MRP rifle-length upper (from Shizzle's) and the fit was absolutely perfect.
I mean machining excellence on the part of LMT...no play between the upper/lower whatsoever and an upper-to-lower gap of .002", just beautiful.

Was at Cabelas this morning, lots of ammo. Wolf .223, $169.95 per 500 in an ammo can. Lots of "sales". 45 to 60 minute wait to handle a firearm.  Bought 500 rounds of CCI stinger .22lr

Drove home stopped at GI oooops. Joes in Kirkland. The kid behind the counter apologized about being out of everything. Literally they had completey empty ammp shelves in the common calibers and almost empty isles in the accessories area. Their liquidation will be a fast and painless one.

So you thought the prices were a little high?
