Right on. The Sharpfingers get A+ for style & use, and a C- for holding an edge. No matter though, I like them, and don't mind sharpening them. Small knives are definitely superior out in the field, in my book. Kitchen knives are a different story of course. 1GR and I have a good friend who uses an old trapper style knife for it all. I almost ordered one of those last week instead. (Cabelas didn't specify if it locked or not. I wanted the lock) |

Quoted: I had Lee McLean in Alaska make me the skinner. I did three elk and a deer with it (sheath notches http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh2/1habu/knife002.jpg Nice looking skinner. Never owned a custom knife myself, nor have I heard of Mr. McLean. A good blade is irreplaceable though. The one the toehead bought for me finally got sharpened after my last buck. Amazing tool. I hate to admit it, but knives are one place you do get exactly what you pay for. |
I have a couple of handmade knives from Wayne Hendrix … the Model #7 is one of my favorites

Nice knives.
I haven't been hunting in ages but I love knives and I've got a couple of handmade hunters. The first was made by Tim Hull in Cisco TX and the second was made by Gerry Randall out of Austin.
There's a better picture of the first knife on the maker's web site: http://www.timhullknives.com/Gallery.php (2nd row, middle pic) |
