From Liberty Belle, via Michelle Malkin:
The protest against the porkulus is on for President's Day! Date: Monday, February 16th Time: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Where: Westlake Park in downtown Seattle, 401 Pine St., in the open area by the big arch. The idea is to use what we've learned about dissent over the last eight years. We need loud protests with lots noise and visuals. So, what should you bring? Bring AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN! Bring your families, your friends, neighbors, bring everyone! Bring SIGNS!! Get those craft making juices flowing and make signs and banners and pictures and paintings. Just imagine that you are a left-wing college student with nothing else to do and that should help you get started! Bring something to sit on and appropriate clothing. Most importantly, JUST BRING IT!!! ... Legally the permit is from noon to 3:00 pm, so we will be there right at noon to set up. The official festivities will kick off at around 12:30 pm. Our headliner will be Steve Beren, and most importantly, this is a chance for you to meet the other Conservative, Libertarian, Republican, i.e. freedom and liberty loving residents of Seattle. Don't waste this opportunity. I think there is also a surprise that will happen towards the beginning of the rally... a really cool surprise. |

Unfortunately the crowd was small...200 people, at best. Some "News" was there...I don't know which TV station, though (who does Porter work for?). A bunch of the yellow Gadsden flags were there...I liked that part. The crowd I saw was a mix of all ages. The event needed a bunch more advertising. I didn't even know about it..just happened by. |

I think the Tea Party had a little more effect. This thread needs more Strat. Yeah, really miss his posts. Could be rather extreme at times, but he generally brought a very cogent analysis from the conservative/constitutionalist standpoint. He seems to be a very intelligent and proactive person. Some day I'd like to meet him...if nothing more than to learn more about survivalist preps and off-grid living...I have a long way to go in that regard. |
