To everyone who said to IM site staff to discuss the issue, I have. And they refuse to discuss the issue. Zip, nada, nothing. No reason given for the disciplinary action.
Looks like Spyda's thread has now been removed, too.

Whatever happened to the mantra: Their site, their rules? If one subscribes to that position then there is no requirement for them to justify their actions.
Having said that, I don't like the situation either. Nor do I fault proactivity. Nothing comes to those that sit idly by. It's all about picking your battles and taking care to not get your ass kicked when you do. |

FWIW, I IMd 82nd to inquire about the account lock a few weeks ago, instead of bringing it to the WA HTF for a bitchfest/debate/sealawyering-contest. Call me crazy or lazy, or both. I also IM'd a couple of members who knew how to get ahold of Strat later on, to ensure that he was dealing w/ the floods and lock alright. All indicated that negotiaions were still underway.  Beleiving that both Strat and 82nd are decent, fair, and capable men, I excused myself from the issue for the time being at least. Neither of them are kids or idiots, and it's not really much of my personal business anyhow, in most ways. Trust that if I had seen a real injustice for any member of the forum, I would NOT have dropped out voluntarily. (plenty of members, staff and mods here, and on other boards already know I will go to bat for what I believe in, when it's needed.... when it can do some good for someone) In this case, I'm not sure that a civilzed group complaint wouldn't have been heard and answered by staff. The lock was somewhat on the fringe IMO, and I don't think Strat has put the forum at sincere risk. (However, he needed to reel it in to prevent doing so in the future, IMO) But waving your arms around and bitching about all staff? Turning on eachother in the WA HTF and arguing petty details? Fucking up 1GRs forum for old personal greviences? Fucking retarded IMO. (and now proven ineffective too) Off to LCR...  |

I considered what I'd posted and went back to delete it...figured it was better left unsaid after all  ...but, the thread was gone.
Maybe there's more of us than just myself that's kind of glad to see that. It was - interesting, to say the least. |
