I knew this guy once, who had one in a rifle that wasn't even his*

The JBTs haven't bothered him yet.

*He lost said rifle in a tragic boating accident.

According to West Coast Armory its illegal. Doesn't stop them.

Hmmm.....

The last 2 Colt AR's I bought both came with a Full-Auto Bolt Carrier.

Thanks guys

Now if i can find one to purchase!

why bother? the semi carrier is well established as working fine, if it came with one I wouldn't worry but there's not much need to specifically try to find one

Do those really cause more thrusts per squeeze?

For the record, my CMMG $650 dollar parts bin special came with one, and I caught a lot of flack from West Coast Armory over how it was illegal (didn't stop them from taking my 35 dollar transfer fee, however.)

I bought my first post-ban Colt, brand new, during the ban, with an M16 BCG in it...

I'm in the market for a BCG i'll take either but if i find a Full auto BCG i wanted to be sure it was legal in Washington State.

Aren't they built a little heavier also?

IIRC, there are a few companies that only use FA BCG's.  It's likely that I'm very wrong though.  I thought I had heard that somewhere.

They have a shrouded firing pin and, apparently have that much better reliability because of extra mass (see above pic.)

They are completely legal, and not a machine gun part. Do NOT install:

1. Autosear
2. Disconnector
3. Selector

There is a 4th style that I have, it is like the M16 carrier but it too short on the ammount of about 3/16-1/4 of an inch to make it so you cannot use it in a F/A gun. Best of both worlds, has the weight, with no questiosn about it's legality.

Totally legal.  Alot of folks have 'em.

ETA:  this topic is brought up about once a week over in AR Discussions.

99% of all the colt style (not Oly) 9mm AR's have a Fa bolt.
Wades had a many M16 bolts for sale until we got Obomd.

Because they mofo'rs! They're the only gun store around Sammamish/Issaquah. Most of their customers come from Sammamish (read as rich kids and daddie-o's with nannies), and think 50% premiums over other gun stores just about 5 miles away is the price of convenience.

That and they charged me over and above full price for what they said they were going to match when I wanted to transfer a lower. When it came, they not only did not meet the online price deal, they charged above it by some 25%

For reference, don't do business with the big bald dude. The short dude or the owner is better to deal with.

ETA: and they're spewing stuff like they know someting to establish themselves as experts, when they're actually B.S. out of their asses. They look to be the beginning of another Wade's gunstore might as well change their name to same.

So what is the point to a FA BCG?  Just more reliability because of the added material?

I don't think much of Worst Coast Armory either.

I once asked them about doing a transfer for a product they didn't carry.  They said sure for $50.  I asked why so much when others are doing transfers for $25-$30?  He replied: "Why should I lower my fee?  Just to keep a customer?  And ATF is making us do a lot more paper work now"  Total BS.

I also asked them about an issue I was having with a Colt rifle.  The first question they asked was if I'd purchased the firearm from them.  I hadn't.  They refused to assist me at that point, got snootty, and arrogantly said I could send it back to Colt "but don't expect them to help you because you're just a civ."   Note, Worst Coast claims to be certified Colt armorers and are Colt dealers.  So much for service (and I wasn't expecting something for free, but the discussion never got that far).

Well, I did send the rifle back to Colt.  Colt did resolve my problem, in a timely manner, and free of charge.

WRT to changing prices, that appears to be an SOP for them.  They did that to a co-worker of mine.  He ordered a pistol from Worst Coast at one price (something they typically stock), and when he arrived to pay for it the price had increased $50.  When he inquired about the price delta, he was told "sorry, the manufacturer increased the price since you ordered."  Sounds a lot transfer fee, doesn't it?

So, IMHO, Worst Coast Armory is not credible.  YMMV, but I find their honesty questionable.

Yeah, Fat Bald Man struck me as a bit of a chairmando too.  He's professional but not very personable.  Nearly gave my wife a wrong steer about WA state hunting regs too.  There's no 5-round mag limit here, dumbass.

They did my RPK-74 transfer very quickly and professionally, but I've heard through the grapevine that they're bumping transfers to 10% of gun cost.

If that's actually the case, they can sell to somebody else.  Lance and one of the other guys there has always been helpful, but they seem to have a couple other people on the staff there that are the archetypal gun counter idiots.

10% above cost xfers: That they are.

For the record I avoided bald dude and dealt with the stockier guy, but we was the one who fed me the line about the illegal BCG. Other than that the customer service could have been better, but I was 24 and transferring a $650 dollar rifle through a store that even then had 6920s at 1700 dollars.

No fucking idea why he had my rifle apart...

You'd be pissed too if ya had to transfer a beaut like this while not selling Colts for 500 over MSRP

And shops like that blame the internet for losing business and raising their prices. Rediculous.
