It's just too bad there is only one day of the year set aside for recognizing all those who have served our country, and fought for our freedom. People need to spend more time being thankful for all that we have, and for the men and women who made it all possible.

LST 534, amazing story, look it up when you have time(or ask me to borrow my VHS), my uncle was a Yeoman onboard. It was "His" Navy, that made we want to join up, his courage and medals that honored me by pinnin' on my "Bars".
All of you that served before me,, All of you that served with me,,, All of you that will serve,, gods speed, give 'em hell.

I’d also like to take this time to say a “Special Thanks” to my fallen friend, Army Sgt. Robert G. Davis who lost his life on August 18th 2005 in Kandahar Afghanistan while battling this War on Global Terrorism during Operation Enduring Freedom. I too would like to say a special prayer for his Widow and young child, as she deals with the trials set before her; and I know there are many stories just like this; but this one hit close to home, and my heart goes out to all of those family’s who have lost love ones and have love ones in harms way. |
