Anyone know anything about this? I have a friend who is getting harassed by the state under this RCW. Chapter 46.29 RCW |
| A friend was in a car accident and while she was insured, her insurance company said her car wasn’t and refused to cover her. The problem seemed to go away. This was 2 years ago and she hasn’t heard anything. Today said friend got a notice in the mail that under RCW 46.29 saying she needs to appear before judge to determine financial responsibility. The only parties named in the legal documents is her and the department of licensing. No insurance company. No other drivers. |
You are only required to have liability insurance. Sounds like she had that but not collision which would have covered her car. Unless there is more to the story I don't see what the dealio is. |
It wouldn't be hard to take copies of cashed checks and/or insurance cards showing the date of service compared to the date of the incident. |
