Not really....

This is Mica, our Australian Shep/Rotty Mix. She's a little over 10 years old.
I was supposed to visit the inlaws in Idaho this weekend.
But Thurs night, Mica was is too much pain even to stand up.
So, off to the vets on Friday. (Had to cancel the trip too.)
Mica was a rescue from the Barona Indian Res down in San Diego.
She's had a hard life, at 2 years old, we found out she had hip dysplasia and arthritis.
But, she's part of the family and she had her first hip operation.
It's called an FHO and they removed the ball from her femur that goes into the hip socket.
That worked well and then a couple of years ago, the other ball was removed.
She was doing well until Thursday night.
Well it turns out the she now has some calcium built up on her spine that may be
pinching her nerves.
But, shes now doing better thanks to Rymadil and some pain meds.

I think you cancelled your trip to get in on the laptop grabbing.

Sorry to hear about the dog and your trip.

Guess you can go riding with me.

I've seen Rymadil do some good things to older dog...She should be much more comfortable soon.

Sorry to hear about your dog - hope she gets on the road to recovery soon.

We have a similar dog situation: doberman/lab mix, ten years old, rescue dog w/ bad start to life (original owner went to the slammer for abusing it... and other things). Absolutely perfect dog for first seven years... then, he got epilepsy. Now it's just money and trips to the vet/emergency vet. He's been a good dog, so we'll hang in there with him to the very end, but it's hard sometimes.
