If you head past the park and keep heading up the mountain, there are miles and miles of dirt roads. Not sure about any shooting but if you find out about a spot, let me know. We go there every year for Memorial day weekend.

I've shot up there before w/o any problems.  Just go up the grade and find an open area.

There is a range out past the airport.  You can usually find some nice old timers out there on the weekends

Shooting range

Did you bring your gun with you on vacation but can’t find anything to shoot? Head to the shooting range managed by the North Cascades Sportsman’s Club. The public range, located about 10 miles north of Chelan, has a 75-yard outdoor pistol range, 400-yard outdoor rifle range, and areas for muzzleloaders, trap, skeet and archery.

The Club’s most popular event is the annual turkey shoot the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

The range is open to the public Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for trap and skeet shooting, and weekend days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for firing on the rifle and pistol ranges. Trap and skeet shooting ranges are also open on Sunday.

To get to the range, head north on Highway 97A and take a left before the Lake Chelan Municipal Airport onto Apple Acres Road. Follow the road for four or five miles, then turn left on Washington Creek Road. The shooting range address is 401 Washington Creek. For more information, call 682-9388.

The Sportsman’s Club offers hunter education classes in March and August. For more information about the classes, call Rick Hanson at 682-5639.
