Robin Williams, Sun,Mon,Tues 7pm at the Showbox. Tickets on sale in 5 mins, Ticketmaster. $50 |
Personally I think he is a really entertaining guy and funny as hell and have waited a great many years to see him perform........... And just to be an ass I will point out the the proceeds of the shows go to: Sunday's artist proceeds to benefit West Seattle Food Bank Monday's artist proceed's to benefit Seattle Humane Society Tuesday's artist proceeds to benefit Seattle Repertory Theater And since i am going Tuesday....................... |
Boo-yeah! USA! USA! USA! I worked for an Swiss Insurance Company that made a lot of money selling life insurance to European Jews during WWII. I think after that my conscience would be clear going to see Robin Williams and helping him pay for his divorce. Na-noo, na-noo. |
|
It's relaxing for me to go through life not paying the salaries of people that think their opinion means more then mine and have nothing better to do then use their time and money trying to take away my rights. There are plenty of other people out there who are funny, witty, talented, etc, to spend my money with, so why bother with the retards? Best of all, I have principles and I stand by them instead of finding ways to justify ignoring them. The next time williams stands in front of a microphone and spews his liberal horse shit and makes you mad, I won't be upset like you are because I didn't pay any money for him to be up there like you did. |
He has never made me mad, I personally believe he should be allowed to his opinion, and he has more time in country then any other comedian then Bob Hope. I support him even if I don't support all his positions. |
|
I suppose that some folks can allow the opinions of others to roll off of them like water off of duck's back, and some just get wet and soggy. Some can have their own beliefs and principles challenged and grow stronger for it, and some just avoid anything that conflicts with their own world view. What a boring world it would be if we were all exactly the same. Diversity doesn't bother me. |
Whatever it takes for you to justify supporting a man who would take away your very reason for visiting this site. I suppose that's now you sleep well at night. You can bandy about your little comparisons that have nothing to do with the reality of the situation and attempt to make yourself seem "open minded" and "accepting". Dosn't change the fact that your "acceptance" of his "diversity" directly cooresponds to how hard our fight is every time he and his liberal friends donate millions to anti-gun and similar campaigns. Millions of dollars that people like YOU gave to him. Millions of dollars that the rest of us now have to fight against just to keep what semblance of freedom that remains in this country. So, good on ya. Thanks a bunch. It's you and those like you who let people like him use his celebrity status to take away your very own rights and you justify it all by letting your mind be so open that your brains slide out your ass. Congradulations tiger. Your pathetic attempts at spinning this into a "tolerance" issue just let us all know your stance on things. |
Jeesh, I guess grumpy hates me also! I enjoy his comedy. I don't care what his politics or views are. I am sure the $50 ticket that Patcho bought is going to revive the Assaut weapons ban. ![]() I never ever waste my hatred on a persons views. I may try to change their mind. But if that doesn't work it won't ruin my day. If no one had a differnt view than you Grumpy it would be a very sad world to live in. |
No, I think YOU mean Armand Goldman
|
Well at least Canadian Bacon... The director is a nut case! (But I did like the movie) |
No, Im pretty sure Im talking about Patch Adams...

HOLY BAT SHIT FAT MAN!!!!!!!!!!! I was pretty pleased that we got tix to see one of our favorite comedians, was not expecting this shit storm................silly me, I forgot where I am posting!!! Oh well, no matter what anyone says, I enjoy Robin Williams and always will no matter his persnal beliefs and such........hell, if I refused to spend any $$$ on anyone with views different then mine I guess i would have no TV shows to watch, movies to see, music to listen to............no books to read, no internet, no telephone service........probally would have to change what clothes I buy and what iced tea I drink........ I probablly should not spend any money on tickets to my favorite sporting events because i am sure someone on the team is ant gun.................... I could go on and on and on but i won't! Not going to let anyone ruin my fun tuesday night!!!!! CHEERS!! |
I think that the others are just jealous... Enjoy |
decaffeinated man. Hope you have a good time......now if I could score some ticket s to see Rush..I'd be pretty happy. |
Wasn't Guns N' Roses involved in some sort of gun buyback program in Oakland a few years ago?
|
There is a big difference between someone who just has differing views and someone that actively attacks peoples' rights. If all he did were entertain that fine whatever. But he is one of the liberal elites that attempts to use his fame to influence others as if his so so comedic ability (I never found him extremely funny. Mrs. doubtfire was his best comedy and it was only about a 7 out of 10. His best movies to me were Patch Adams and Awakenings, neither a comedy.) makes his opinion any better or more valuable than a bank teller, or mechanic, or furniture store owner, or whatever. And don't try to use the charities as a validation. If they meant anything to you, the amount you spent on tickets would buy more food for any of the local food banks. If you want, I can get you the contact information to volunteer at the Northwest Harvest's Cherry St. Food Bank in Seattle. That will do more than a couple tickets to some show. Otherwise it's just a way for you to justify supporting a person that is actively<<<<<key word there, attempting to undermine our rights. |
So it's ok for someone to actively attempt to strip you of your rights as long as they can make you giggle? |
WTF is the matter with you? He wants to be entertained and it's his fucking money. Some of you clowns need more pie, I swear. FWIW, I watched a rerun of SNL where Alec Balwin had hosted last week. I suppose I owe you some sort of explanation for supporting that liberal actor now? (I honestly think he's talented and entertaining.... but his politics are his fucking problem, not mine or yours)

It has me a little fired up too Dino. Worst WA HTF thread ever. (Not your fault Patcho) ETA; You know, I've respected and learned a lot from plenty of folks, who've held entirely different political opinions, religious beliefs, or lived different lifestyles than I'd ever seen. Refusing an individual based on a single issue, or worse, platform politics, is fucking ridiculous. And some of you want to select out specific artists, since you believe they are the consensus of an entire industry, or as though you've targeted the 'source'. Brilliant! <sigh> ![]() GD is a perfect example of the truth, and the truth is that we will never organize. We're too busy pointing our fingers at each other to get anything else done anyhow. Blame the quads, blame celebrities, blame the schools, blame the cops. Fuck off. You are the only one stopping yourself from anything. The world was here first, and was getting along just fine. Your critical & vocal observations only exacerbate the problems you love to whine about. Furthermore, of all the shit in the world I refuse to allow to waste my time & thoughts on, what celebrities think, say, or spend their money at is the furthest from my mind. I guarantee that I care less about their political opinions than they care about mine. Free thinking individuals eh? I sure don't see it. |
|
Robin Williams doesn't like guns? Great, who the fuck cares? He doesn't pass immigration laws, approve mortgages, or do any corporate hiring. He's not an elected official, he doesn't represent our country in any political arena. He's just a comedian/actor with an opinion. Want to hurt him? Don't go to see his shows/movies. |
No.... you guys mean Donald Quinelle. I think Robin wants all the guns for himself.
|
|
Donald Quinelle: I'm sorry I'm gonna have to blow a large hole in your skivvy heart. [Donald and Jack in a shoot-out to the death] Donald: Jaaaack? Jack: Yeah? Donald: Time out, OK? Jack: Time out? Donald: Time out. Jack: What do you mean, 'time out?' Donald: You're not gonna believe this. I was in a hurry when I left the cabin this morning, and, well, silly me, I got the wrong bullets. Sonny Paluso: You think Wes is God, don't you. Donald Quinelle: No, not God, Just an ordinary man. Maybe a little ahead of his time, but just an ordinary man. Sonny Paluso: Wes is an asshole. Donald Quinelle: Blasphemy! Oh, you'll smoke a turd in hell for that! |
Wasn't it Rainbow Randolph? ![]() Game, Set, Match! |

Meh- Whoopie Goldberg was funny until she started up with her political shit. Now all she does is an hour of Bush/Republican/Conservative bashing. Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam were good until their concerts turned into a 90 minute DNC/dummycunt commercial. Robin Williams has taken potshots at President Bush, some were funny, some were pretty fucked up. If I went to see Robin Williams I would expect a few Bush/Republican jokes, along with some Cuntlery/Barack Obama jokes. If it turned into a 90 minute DNC/dummycunt commercial of nothing but Bush/Republican/Conservative bashing I would be asking for my money back. |
That would only be true if he didn't attempt use use his fame, and the love that people in this country have of celebrities, to influence the direction of this country. If you get up on a stage in front of 30k people nobody will listen to you talk about anything. Put a celeb on the same stage talking about the same thing, and many of those people will suddenly start to think that maybe what he's saying is such a great idea. This isn't about one actor, comedian, or musician. Those with fame have the ability to influence the thoughts of hundreds of thousands. What's funny is that one smartassed comment because I was bored as hell at work has turned into a debate of militia proportions. |
|
It's simply rude imo, If your maid took advantage of her position in your house to spew unwanted politics at you, you'd fire her. The same for your doctor, repairman, or anyone you have paid for reasons other than their opinions. Don't forget how you rail on teachers who use non-political classes to infect kids with their hair-brained ideas. I love Robin's standup routines, but I don't give a damn about his politics. Don't want to hear 'em, that's not why I pay to hear him. |
