If you haven't already ordered skip the following:
The only steel mags worth having are made by HK and they are $40. (and they are proving to not be the hot item they were thought to be) We can get you USGI mags for a similar price or Pmags for just slightly more.
These are just not needed. |
The catalog I got from them this week had 1991 Officer Mags, 7rd, Blued, Chip McCormicks for $11.50. Seems alot cheaper as long as you don't need the mags to be flush with the magwell.

+1... I know it is hard to tell Mil guys this, but trust us. If you want to clean out your gas tube, just give it a blast of Carb cleaner once a decade or so. I honestly find that It is just fine. I will pop the pin, and pull out the tube once a year just to wipe it all down with carb cleaner, and make it look brand new again. |

I wasn't really going to get anything that I wasn't already planning on getting, and even that wasn't very likely as I'm being a tight-ass with my money and was thinking about just adding the whole whopping $600 to my savings. (for instance, I need a new laptop, and can find new one's for $450 that would suit my needs just fine, and I can easily afford that amount with or without the $600, but I'm forcing myself to buy a cheaper used one anyway.) But.... Those GSG5 .22lr's are looking pretty tempting. |
I'm turning 21 in 3 months and 22 days, so I might order one of these. Maybe a few G19 mags and 9mm ammo too..

I know it's hard to tell you young whippersnappers this, but in 20+ years of service, I never cleaned the gas tube on an M16. As for $timulu$ package and tax refund, paying bills and/or setting the money aside to pay for trip to Hawaii this fall. |
