War is hell..

I have killed hundreds of thousands of my enemy.
I kill them indescrimately, mothers and babies are my prime targets.
I have been wounded more than once, but I have to keep up the fight.
Few of them dug in deep into their dirt & stone bunkers.  I go in and kick them down with my boots then pull their struggling bodies out.
Hundreds of them have overrun my position, and I have to keep fighting to keep them at bay.
Even though I lay down toxic chemicals to smother all of them to death.. I know they will keep on coming.

Today I may have push them back and regain superiority of the battlefield, but I know tomorrow brings a new invasion.

Some may call me a murderer, other will call me hero, but I call myself..

My Apple trees are about three weeks later than last year with blooms. They still need at least another week.

I wouldn't hesitate to plant fruit trees at this point..

My wife called me into the kitchen tonight. Said she saw some strange animal in the back yard. I took my time, but finally arrived. There's a raccoon laying on the grass. Looks like it's close to death.

The first words out of my mouth....

"It's a raccoon. Want me to shoot it?"

Until the very last line, I thought it was going to say exterminator.  I was thinking bugs as I read it, not weeds.

No bugs.. thank goodness.  I had a feeling some people would think of bugs on this post.    I'll save that battle for another day.

We have a bunch of cottontails in the neighborhood. Last year they weren't an issue, but once they stumble upon the garden, I'm afraid it's gonna be on.
