Laser, I have EOTechs  on two rifles and hey are indeed fine rifle sights but still require sight picture where the Laser does not.

My preferred set up is a high powered optic with a laser for close in aiming, the Laser is easier to use from a vehicle or while moving and any novice can put the dot on the target and score a hit.

The EOTech is better for longer range than the laser but if I am that far away I can take the time to use optics.

Of the two, I prefer the Aimpoint, for battery life and durability considerations.

Eotech all the way baby.

Eotech, AA batteries and an armored hood.

I love my Eotech.. though I do like the ACOGs as well (don't own one though)

Note that this topic has been ongoing for a while now in the Optic's section.. Each person likes different one.. for different reasons.. and for different needs.

Hate it with all of my might.  Im still a diehard Irons fan, but I do have to admit, my eyes are starting to let me down a bit.

Between the two I'll stick with an Aimpoint.

Followup: I have an ACOG and an AimPoint.  I do like EOTech's recticle, but not its chassis.

The Aimpoint T-1 in a larue mount would be my choice.
ETA: Second choice would be the Eotech 557 with a GGG Accucam.

Eotech. I used the M-68 in basic training, it was allright but in the Infantry I used mainly the 552 eotech.

EOTech.  The only thing I don't like about it is that some seem to set kind of high. I don't like the Aimpoint as much because it's still looking through a tube. Even if you push it further out, towards the muzzle.

Both are vast improvements in accurate speed at close range.  Nothing anyfaster at room sized distances with the same level of accuracy. Still useable to 300 hundred meters, and the magnifiers for either are a great addition.

I have a couple ACOGS but I prefer and almost always use the iron sites.

In a vacuum they don't work both ways, point one at me and if I am looking toward you..........................

My first was an Aimpoint.  Have had it a few years now and I'm still using the battery it came with.  Bought an Eotech a few weeks ago and it's just as capable IMHO.

Buy either one and you'll be OK, however you may need a riser with the Eotech to get 1/3 co-witness, unless your buying the newer model Eotech.
Aimpoint needs a QRP mount with spacer or aftermarket mount to get 1/3 co-witness.

With either sight check what you'll need first for mounting options but Eotech may be a little cheaper.

Yes lasers work both ways, and even better if I'm wearing NV and the other guy is fucking with hiw laser.

With PVS-7s I can use a NV-EoTech, but the NV-Aimpoint does not work worth a shit. PVS-14s weapon mount I'm sure is a different story.

Its a shooter preference world, I like Aimpoint....Aim Small... Miss Small. Althrough you can get Eotech's with just a dot. The new Comp M4 is the cats ass.

Even the smallest amount of dust will make your laser it look like star wars.  But I can see it working well in some cases.

Im curious as to what distance you transition from your laser to your passive optic?

After my training.. I've determine that my Eotech works great for me..  Fricken zombie had a huge hole in it's chest and a nice couple of holes in his head.  CQC I think I would have had a hard time with the ACOG.  They look so much clearer when reaching out and touching someone..  which is understandable since there's less glass the light has to go through before it reaches the eye (talking about using a Eotech with a magnifier).

Sure does. We shoot a night match for practical rifle every Dec. down at the Tri County gun club. The min. it gets smokey or foggy , Lasers start looking like light sabers. Guy's who bing weapon mounted Nvd's do the best. second best, are the guy's with white light.

I have astigmatism and a lot of correction from hard contact lenses.  My EoTech blooms noticably.  At least it sure doesn't look like the pictures indicate it should.  It still works pretty well for me.

I'd like to see if the AimPoint is better for me.
