That name rings no bells.  I pretty much only knew my team and a handful of other people.

You seem to have jumped the gun, so to speak, on DA's authorization to paint your piece.

Since I am no longer responsible for enforcing discipline, I approve.

Is your M203 held on with 550 cord?  or is this some high-speed, low-drag thing you young whippersnappers cooked up after I retired?

Maybe it's a dummy cord like we had to use in the 101st back in GW1 after too many dumbfucks left weapons in the shitters.

I second the "dummy cord" response.  It's pretty much army wide policy to have every sensitive item strapped to your weapon so you can lose them all at once.

Last trip, our Scoots destroyed a new high dollar doodad just about every other week, seems they could not grasp the concept of what the cord was for.....Dummies.

The other three platoons, including the main't section, wired their shit tight, and experianced one "missplaced" item that was found.

Here's the same type laser that's attached to Blacktide's weapon on the side, mid Bbl, after a Scooter's handiwork:

Talk about "DOH!"

I just want to know why Blacktide has his sight with the stateside training block still in place (The little blue tab in the center)....How are you supposed to give Habibi free Lasik that way?

It's not, it's hard to tell in that pic but what you're seeing may be the little blue paint markings. PEQ-2 btw. Rocking a PEQ 15 now ohhhh yeah.

"Frickin' Lazzzzzzers..."

Back in the day––hey, wake up, you punk!––the only people who had 'em were door gunners.  (That I know of.)

As I was counting the days to retirement I got tasked as Range Safety Officer for a door gunnery range.  "But I'm an MI Geek, I've never done door gunnery, I'm not qualified to do this!"

"Oh, don't worry, SFC Drang, everything will be all right."

Filled me with confidence.

So I go off to the initial planning meeting at S3, and as they go around the room introducing everyone they get to me and I say "I'm SFC Drang, I'm an MI Geek, and I know dick about door gunnery, am I really qualified to be RSO?  BTW, my Range Card isn't stamped 'gunnery'."  The S3 is all and and "We'll deal with this later", until they get to the part where they're talking about the "Mark 1 Aiming Device" for the night fire and I finally interrupt and say "English, please!  WTF a Mark 1 Aiming Device?" and they realize that I really am not qualified to do the job.

I guess they figured I was afraid of machine guns, or just lazy, maybe I had too many flight hours and didn't want to fly, something.

Fly boys are stoopid.

The family and I were in Bremerton waiting for the ferry back to Seattle so decided to hit Coldstone Creamery for some ice cream. A friendly Staff SGT in full uniform was standing in front of us and my 4 yr old son was completely enamored. I told my son to say "thank you for your service," which he did. The SGT promptly responded with a "thank you for allowing me to serve, young man!" My son was absolutely thrilled. Even more so when he told my son he drove tanks for a living! My son had to be pulled away so the nice SGT could finally eat his now melting ice cream. You couldn't ask for better role models for young children, which in turn create a level of respect young people have later on in life for our fine men and women in uniform.

Gentlemen and women, thank you for your service!

Great guys, great times. I'd have stayed much longer, but God threw a nasty case of bone cancer down my way, and it was non-compatible with the Marine SOP. By the time I had beat it, I was fat, and Bravo Co. was gracing the cover of Soldier of Fortune magazine with the highest kill ratio in Gulf War I.
I'd love to go back and do it all again. I still love tanks!
