I can't decide if I want to keep my WASR looking stock or if I want to Duracoat it. Part of me wants to keep it stock with no accessories, and another part of me wants to scope it, replace the wood furniture with plastic and camouflage it.

Is there anybody in the Seattle area that is really good at Duracoat camouflage?

A good duracoat camo kit with templates runs about 1/2 the value of the AK. I would leave it as is. JMHO

Thee's not a "do both" option where you get a second AK. One for taticool apps and one for the classic look

I'd keep it stock, and appreciate it for what it is. Granted they're cheap, but still a classic.

I voted to leave it be. I love the look of the basic AK. The most I would do is sand down the wood and stain it, then cover it with a light clear coat. That's what I did with mine. I did however use duracoat on the exposed metal, one thing to watch out for when doing this is make sure you don't cover up the serial number and manufacturer information, Century uses really light marking that gets covered up easily, I learned the hard way.  Here's a pic of mine to give you an idea.

Already done, I just havn't taken any new pictures yet.

What would be a good color for the stain to make the handguards stand out?

Screw it paint it if you want to.  It's one of god knows how many thousands of similar clones out there now as it is.  My vote is to be original and try something new and mix it up a bit.
