Yes, I know this is a dupe from General, but since no one goes there…

"In the firearms industry your inventory is your working capitol and all of theirs has been taken. They essentially have to start their company all over from scratch, with no working capitol."

Need an excuse to build or stock up on stripped lowers??? All profits will go to Cav Arms.

(here visa, visa, visa... where are you hiding?)

I spent a couple hours at Cavalry Arms the day after they were raided by the BATFE. The immediate situation is not good. They had all of their computers taken. So payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, pending orders etc, etc are all lost. The legal fees are not even the problem YET, staying in business for the next couple months is hurtle #1. Almost all of their inventory was seized. Pretty much in the firearms industry your money is always tied up in your inventory, and theirs went out the door Wednesday. So money was invested in the parts that they don’t even have anymore, but the bills associated are still going to be due. On top of this their primary vendor has cut them off net 30 terms and put them on COD for fear they will be unable to pay in 30days. Nobody in the firearms industry is rich by any means and these guys are just like any other working Joes. They need paychecks, they owe vendors, they have monthly bills, they have families to feed, gas tanks to fill. You quickly see how effective this strategy is at shutting down firearms companies.

So our brothers in arms are between a rock and a hard place and it’s time we show our solidarity. As we know from recent poles most arfcommers make like $250k/yr so this should be real easy The best plan we could come up with is to make a run of Cav’s polymer AR15 lowers, and mark them in a special way to signify that you went out of your way to help Cav when the chips were down. So I was thinking we’d engrave ā€œCav-Aid 2008ā€ on the side of the magwell. Who knows, these could become collectables. You simply click here www.agparms.com to purchase.

FWIW, Mary's Pistols has an FFL with AGP Arms, the folks doing the sale of the lowers. For the time being, the only color lowers available will be black, but there is a possibility of some of the other colors being available next week. Please don't let that stop you from buying a lower now if you can! They will need all the money they can put together just to buy materials, since their main vendor booted them off Net-30 and put them on COD. At these prices you may be able to afford another lower soon.

This whole business disturbs me to no end. They are good people and in no way deserve wht has happened-- ignoring for a moment the fact that the ATFE warrant did not specify what they were looking for, and they just took everything. If they can do that in this case they can do it to anyone-- unless they are curbed.

So Since Mary’s has an FFL with AGP Arms, what exactly needs to be done to get me a lower?

I think:
Order it online, let them know to ship it to Mary's... Call Dan & Mary to ok it and give them a heads up a lower will be on the way from AGP.  As far as I know, if a company already has an FFL on file, no need to have them send another one.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A little birdy told me that Mary's is going to wave their FFL fee for anyone ordering a Cav-Aid lower (this is ONLY for the Cav-Aid lowers).  They are SUGESTING (strongly urging, or breaking knee caps) a donation of the normal FFL fee (or what you can afford) and will have a collection box at the store.

Outstanding of them If I do say so myself...   for Dan & Mary!!!!

What parts needed to be ordered in addiiton to the lower?  It has a different type of parts kit and takedown pin correct?

As far as special parts go; the take down pins are different and it uses a roll pin to capture the buffer detent pin and spring.  These parts are included.

Uses all standard mil-spec parts with the exception of the take down pins.  The front pivot and rear pins are a Quick Take down style with Detents built into them, This allows for quick and easy removal of the pins while maintaining a positive lock.

*prices include buttplate, trap door, and take down pins.

   *  Takedown Pins:  Use the supplied speed pins to secure your upper receiver to your CAV-15 lower receiver.  If you lose or misplace the supplied pins, replacement pins can be ordered from Cavalry Arms at a cost of $5.00 a piece.

   * The CAV-15 MKII lower receiver uses a carbine buffer and spring.

   * The CAV-15 MKII lower receiver uses standard mil-spec fire control pins.  Though the area of the receiver that accepts the hammer pin is wider than aluminum AR15 receivers, it uses a standard fire control pins.  Simply center the pin in the hole, and ensure it catches on the J-pin in the hammer.

   * Check all pinholes before you Assemble gun! Parts vary slightly between manufacturers and some parts may fit tighter than others, especially the safety selector detent.

   * Safety selector detent pin/spring load from the top. The spring may need to be trimmed for proper fit.  The top of the detent should sit at 0.20ā€ (+/- 0.020) from the base of the selector hole.

   * Bolt hold open spring will need to be trimmed 1 to 1½ coils for the last round hold-open to function with older/weak magazines.

   * The 5/64th roll pin attached to this sheet is to capture your buffer detent pin and spring.

If it were me, I'd call Mary's and let them know I was ordering one-- then go to www.agparms.com and place the order. Use the Comments box to let the guys at AGP know that you want the lower sent to Mary's.

Okay, an update on the shipping from Kevin at AGP Arms, posted yesterday:

Shipping Update!!

Sorry to get you excited but I want to be very clear that we don't know exactly when these will be ready to ship. No CC's are being charged until the parts are ready to ship from us. Cav is being very careful to make sure they build these lowers within the letter of the law. They do have their 07FFL still in tact, but one of the seized file cabinets contained their marking variance. This is what gives Cav the ability to have the poly lowers squirted off site at their molding shop. They are trying to solve this through their lawyer right now, the delay should be a matter of days not weeks.

Kevin@AGP

EdSr is thinking there's a 50/50 shot at them getting the variance papers back from the Feds, so y'all be patient here-- this was about helping them, not about buying lowers, right? And if they aren't able to get the lowers made, please consider just donating what you were going to spend to their defense fund. That is all.
