The shortest barrel we can have here is 16" correct? or we can go 14.5 w/ perm fh correct? Is doing it one way better than the other? any pics of 14.5 w/ perm fh?

You can have a 6" inch barrel if you want but the flash/barrel extensoin must be permanent and be at least 16".

Some of the people I train with have the 14.5 with permanent extensoin but even when doing rapid dismount from a car the difference between the 14.5 and the 16 plus fh is not worth the loss of bullet fps in my opinion.

I go with the 16 for bullet fett per second or just use my 6.5 AR pistol.

Bushmaster carbines with the permanently attached "IZZY" break are 14.5 inch barrels. I can't think of any advantage of a 14.5 over a 16. Unless you want to shoot from a moving vehicle, in which case you should use a MAC 10 wit da'beamz

I like my 14.5in, for some reason it seems noticibly shorter than a 16in

of course

I think it looks better/more natural

good point

i only just figured out what a middy was a couple of weeks ago
previously i had thought it was a gas system designed specifically for 18"SPRs not that it was actually a superior system for carbines
